All the goodness of the new E-Class, with 603 screaming horses underhood. "The Mercedes-AMG E63 Sedan and E63 S Sedan are the most powerful E-Class variants of all time." That's how Mercedes-Benz starts its lengthy press blast about the new AMG E63 , which you can read below, but that's only half the story. What you're looking at here is one of the most luxurious, technologically advanced super sedans ever created, and it comes packed with some new cool bits that'll likely make it a total blast to drive. Under the hood is – you guessed it – Mercedes’ 4.0-liter V8 engine, with a pair of turbochargers that both use twin-scroll technology to improve performance and reduce turbo lag. In the standard E63, this engine is good for 563 horsepower (420 kilowatts) and 553 pound-feet of torque (750 Newton meters), and with 4Matic all-wheel drive, 0-60 happens in just 3.4 seconds. Even more outstanding is the E63 S, which ups the output to 603 hp (450 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm). That … [Read more...] about 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 revealed with 603 hp and Drift Mode

Porsche 911 GT3 RS Spied With Gargantuan Rear Wing
Holy downforce! Porsche is testing a new wing. Oh, there's a 911 GT3 RS attached to it. Porsche is relentless when it comes to freshening up the 911 lineup as there always seems to be a new model on the way. The GT3 made its debut last month ago and we already know from parent company VW Group additional versions are coming later in 2021. One of them could possibly be the much-hyped Safari , which has been caught by our spies recently. Today, the photographers caught a glimpse of another 911 derivative, the track-conquering GT3 RS. You might be tempted to say Porsche was testing a race car given the sheer size of the rear wing, similar to what the new 911 GT3 Cup has. However, we can easily see the prototype had a license plate and was being tested on public roads. Heck, it even had one of those German emissions stickers on the bottom corner of the windshield on the passenger side. 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Technical Drawings Reveal Design Inside And Out
GR start/stop button suggests a spicy version might be planned. Toyota's worst kept secret – the new Land Cruiser – is making the headlines yet again as hugely revealing technical drawings claimed to be straight from the manufacturer have emerged. These provide a great look at the next-generation model, which has been a long time coming taking into account the J200 has been around for nearly 14 years. The rugged SUV is expected to have largely the same length, but with a stretch of the wheelbase of around two inches (five centimeters) and shorter overhangs. The rear angle shows the split tailgate could be deleted with the switch to the next-generation model, unless there's a separate version planned with the more practical rear end. Comparing the outgoing model to its replacement, it would appear there's extra cladding on the wheel arches along with a reshaped quarter glass. The side mirrors are mounted lower on the doors rather than at the base of the A-pillars, … [Read more...] about 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Technical Drawings Reveal Design Inside And Out
Formula 1 and Asia: What are the next steps?
Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport, as we are often told. But to get to the pinnacle you have to pass through a journey and in a competitive environment like motorsports that means overcoming significant hurdles. Those hurdles are even greater for drivers coming from outside Europe, as was spelled out quite plainly at the FIA Sport Conference in Manila. For F1 to market itself as the best drivers in the world, it really needs to have the best drivers in the world, who have come up through the ranks from countries around the globe. Today it cannot really say that. The cost of climbing the ladder is prohibitively high and access to the feeder series is limited, especially in regions like Asia. And yet if Asia could produce a quality driver, the sport would have greater chance of thriving in the region. F1 CEO Chase Carey appeared in a panel discussion on Day 1 of the conference with Asian drivers Alex Yoong and Marlon Stockinger, which looked at how to find a way for … [Read more...] about Formula 1 and Asia: What are the next steps?
