The first aspect of note is the FW43B’s front wing, which has been updated to take into account the regulation changes elsewhere on the car imposed by the FIA for 2021. Williams FW43B detail Photo by: Williams The tips of the flaps that reside above this section have also been altered too, with their design altered to have their own effect on the vortex and change how that flow is received downstream. The sidepod deflectors carry the same DNA as their predecessors and while last year's arrangement was disconnected from the horizontal pod vane, it now arches over to meet it, framing the sidepod’s shoulder. Ford v Ferrari: Why there needs to be a Le Mans 1966 sequel
I really enjoyed James Mangold’s retelling of the Ford v Ferrari story , in which Christian Bale utterly nails the grouchy-but-brilliant Ken Miles and Matt Damon uses his considerable acting talent to counter his physical deficiency playing larger-than-life Texan Carroll Shelby. The tale ends, of course, (spoiler alert!) with Miles’s sad demise testing the J-car at Riverside California. Read Also: Opinion: Why the director of Ford v Ferrari took a major risk But endings are often just the beginning, especially in Hollywood. In his exclusive interview with our David Malsher, Bale thought Le Mans ’66 was “one of the best scripts I’ve ever read” when he first saw it in 2011. Well, Christian, although you’re out of the casting frame for the sequel for obvious reasons, how about this plotline… Christian Bale Photo by: 20th Century Fox Following Miles’s death, the J-Car project is scrapped in favor of a new GT40, the Mk IV. designed and built (unlike the ’66 … [Read more...] about Ford v Ferrari: Why there needs to be a Le Mans 1966 sequel
Gilded Koenigsegg Agera RS is first Euro delivery
Trimmed in gold leaf and called Naraya. This is the very first Koenigsegg Agera RS to be delivered to a European owner, who called it Naraya and had it gilded. That’s right: all that appears to be gold in these images really is genuine gold leaf. It was applied at the Koenigsegg factory by Ettore Callegaro, an Italian artisan known for such work on cars and motorcycles. Apparently the process took 12, 12-hour days to complete. Besides the 18-carat trim, the exterior is finished in blue-tinted clear carbon fiber. And so, too, is the chassis tub, something which has never been done before. Probably because it’s almost entirely pointless, as most of the tub will only ever be seen by a mechanic. But it’s that kind of attention to detail that takes a car to the next level. Inside, the seats are finished in blue Alcantara with gold piping, and there's yet more gold leaf trim. Including a Naraya nameplate that’s also set with 155 cultured diamonds. Power comes from a … [Read more...] about Gilded Koenigsegg Agera RS is first Euro delivery
Koenigsegg Bringing Another 1,360-HP Agera One-Off To New York
It's one of just 25 special Ageras that will be built. Surprise, surprise – Koenigsegg is bringing another bespoke Agera to the New York Auto Show , not that we're complaining. Like the many one-off Ageras before it, this one is drop-dead gorgeous and comes pre-loaded with more than 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts). It’s called the Agera RS1, and like the name suggests, it’s entirely one of a kind. The exterior is finished in a unique Arctic White with carbon fiber and light blue accents. It comes with all the typical aero fixtures you’d find on the standard Agera RS, including things like the rear wing, the side skirts, and the integrated front spoiler. Power comes courtesy of Koenigsegg’s 5.0-liter biturbo V8 which produces an Earth-Shattering 1,360 hp (1,014 kW) and 1,011 pound-feet (1,370 Newton-meters) of torque. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox, and the curb weight sits at just 3,075 pounds (1,394 … [Read more...] about Koenigsegg Bringing Another 1,360-HP Agera One-Off To New York
New Koenigsegg Agera XS owner completes his own supercar ‘Holy Trinity’
The Agera will park alongside a Lamborghini Veneno, and a one-off Pagani Huayra. The Ferrari LaFerrari , Porsche 918, and McLaren P1 are often considered to be the ‘Holy Trinity’ of supercars. Each one commands millions of dollars and is able to exceed speeds of 200 mph (321 km/h). But if you ask multi-millionaire Kris Singh what his idea of a supercar trinity is, it's even more exclusive than that. Complimenting his $4M Lamborghini Veneno , and his one-off Pagani Huayra “La Monza Lisa,” the investment banker was introduced to his one-of-a-kind Agera XS this past weekend at Pebble Beach. It’s the first time a Regera RS has been homologated for use on U.S. roads, and was flown directly from Koenigsegg headquarters in Angelholm, Sweden, for the event. Of Singh's collection, the Agera XS is the most powerful. It features a 5.0-liter biturbo V8 and 1,160 horsepower (865 kW). It’s rarer than both the Lambo and Pagani as well, being the only street-legal Agera RS in … [Read more...] about New Koenigsegg Agera XS owner completes his own supercar ‘Holy Trinity’
