If you think it looks familiar, you're not alone. Skoda's teaser campaign for the all-new Fabia is in full swing and the latest episode takes us inside the cabin. Compared to the outgoing supermini, the fourth generation of the subcompact hatchback looks totally different, but at the same time, it's quite similar to what you'll find in the larger Scala and its Kamiq crossover equivalent. Aside from the round lateral air vents, the cabin looks oh-so-familiar. From the tablet-like infotainment and climate control module to the two-spoke steering wheel and VAG's immortal light switch, the Fabia is certainly not a departure from current Skoda interior designs. The bulky gear shift lever for the DSG means the B-segment hatch doesn't get the shift-by-wire tech implemented in the Octavia with its fancy small switch. The use of a mechanical handbrake reveals the company's smallest car uses simpler underpinnings, specifically the MQB A0 platform. We think it will be badged as a Stepway model to highlight its ruggedness. With the Volkswagen Group deciding to push Skoda upmarket, Dacia has remained the last bastion of low-cost transportation in Europe. The latest-generation Logan sedan and Sandero supermini are more expensive than they used to be due to added equipment and modern underpinnings, but in the grand scheme of things, they're still cheap as chips. For those in need of extra practicality on a tight budget, Dacia is working on a new wagon expected to replace not just the Logan MCV but also the Lodgy minivan. Considering how tall the roof is and the sheer size of the tailgate, some might wonder whether there will also be a commercial version to succeed the Dokker. However, spy shots have revealed that will be a separate model . The 37-year-old was set to pilot one of three BTC Racing Honda Civic Type FK8s this season alongside Josh Cook and new recruit Jade Edwards. Upon moving to the Brackley squad last season after a challenging season with Team Hard in 2019, Crees won the Jack Sears Trophy for drivers without an outright BTCC podium. However, just a week before the BTCC season opener at Thruxton (8-9 May), the team revealed it will be parting ways with Crees. The team statement didn’t clarify the reasons for the split, but said Crees was departing "on amicable terms". Crees had driven for the squad in last week's media day test at Silverstone, running a BTC Racing livery instead of his familiar Clever Baggers colours. The Kent driver ended the test - topped by returning three-time champion Gordon Shedden - an encouraging third fastest overall. The statement added that the team will announce a replacement "in the next few days, prior to Thruxton". “On behalf of everyone at BTC Racing, … [Read more...] about BTC Racing parts ways with Crees on eve of 2021 BTCC season

The i-Road is a rather peculiar three-wheeler boasting "motorcycle-like maneuverability" in a tandem two-seater compact EV. It's powered by two 2 kW electric motors mounted in the front wheels that draw power from a lithium-ion battery pack. It can reach a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h) and provides a maximum range of around 30 miles (48.2 km) once you wait three hours for the batteries to be recharged from a regular household outlet. Toyota mentions the i-Road weighs less than 300 kg (661 lbs) in a body measuring 2350mm long, 1445mm tall, with a 1700mm wheelbase. It rides on 16-inch front alloys shod in 80/80 tires and on a 10-inch rear wheel with a 130/170 R10 tire. The concept also benefits from an Active Lean system which automatically controls the body angle to ensure a more stable ride.
