Audi India kicked off the initiative by inviting its fanbase to post some of the gender-related stereotypes they are tired of hearing. Having received over 100 responses, the brand took this initiative on-ground by inviting eight women for the campaign drive. Here are just a few examples of some of the age-old, supposedly funny remarks women are often subjected to while driving in our country: "You drive pretty well for a woman", "Can your feet reach the accelerator?", "You might want to consider a smaller car?", "Will you be able to change the tire on your own?", "You'll be more comfortable in the backseat." Di Resta rejoins United Autosports for Le Mans 24 Hours
Ex-Formula 1 driver di Resta was part of United's winning LMP2 line-up in the French endurance classic last year alongside his full-season FIA World Endurance Championship teammates Filipe Albuquerque and Phil Hanson. Hanson's promotion from a silver driver rating to gold over the winter forced United to change its line-up however, with ex-DTM driver Fabio Scherer replacing di Resta for 2021 . Now United has revealed it will be entering three Oreca 07 cars at Le Mans - taking up two auto-invites alongside its regular WEC car - and that di Resta will pilot its #23 car alongside two yet-to-be-named teammates. DTM and Formula E regular Frijns was due to contest the German endurance classic for the Car Collection Motorsport team, sharing the #3 Audi R8 LMS with Mirko Bortolotti, Christopher Haase and Markus Winkelhock. However, ahead of Friday's third qualifying session, Audi released a brief statement saying that Frijns would take no further part in the weekend. It added that the Dutchman was tested for COVID-19 and returned a negative result. F1 to stop using single-use plastic bottles in 2021
As part of F1's long-term sustainability push, F1 has outlined some key targets that it wants to achieve alongside an effort to become carbon neutral from 2030. These include a vision for F1 events to be rid totally of single-use plastic and to ensure that 100% of all waste is reused, recycled or composted. While grand prix racing's chiefs have laid out a 2025 deadline to achieve that, F1 has elected to make a big step this year with efforts to dramatically cut back on its own single-use plastic bottles in the paddock. From the first test in Bahrain this weekend, and for all grands prix this year, F1's official staff will not be able to use single-use plastic bottles. Instead, F1 has arranged for more water refill stations around the Bahrain circuit, paddock, offices and garages to all personnel can refill any water containers.
