Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free For the last two-and-a-half years, Williams Grand Prix Engineering, formerly owned by its founder family, has been in a state of transition. Its new owners, American investment firm Dorilton, have invested considerable time, effort and funds to rebuild neo-Williams in their own image. Through swanky promotional films with Hollywood actors or hosting public exhibitions during grand prix weekends to bring the team to the fans, Williams has sought to write a new narrative for itself while still proudly embracing its illustrious heritage. But while the team appears to have clarity over how it wishes to present itself, it has struggled to find its footing on the race track in that same time. How will EU ban and West’s price cap on Russian diesel work?
This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 11 FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — The European Union is taking another big step toward cutting its energy ties with Russia. The 27-nation bloc is banning Russian refined oil products like diesel fuel and joining the U.S. and other allies in imposing a price cap on sales to non-Western countries. Europe's ban takes effect Sunday following its embargo on coal and most oil from Russia. The move is meant to further slash reliance on Russian energy and payments into the Kremlin's war chest as the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine nears. The newest energy sanctions have risks: Diesel prices have already jumped since the war started on Feb. 24, and there's uncertainty about how the EU embargo and price cap by the Group of Seven major democracies will affect the market for a fuel crucial to the global economy. What you might not know is that the Realtor is also a Grammy-nominated songwriter with a long and storied career working with the likes of Enrique Iglesias, Janelle Monáe and Fantasia. Or that she co-wrote the Meghan Trainor song "Woman Up" playing in that "80 for Brady" movie trailer that's sure to dominate our televisions during the Super Bowl. Liam Lawson takes in ‘really crazy’ Bathurst Formula 1 car run with Red Bull
Red Bull reserve driver Liam Lawson enjoyed his wild ride at Bathurst when he got behind the wheel of the RB7. As the 2023 staging of the Bathurst 12 Hour played out at Mount Panorama, there was time in the schedule for Lawson to take the RB7 for a spin. At the hands of Sebastian Vettel, the RB7 became a title-winning Formula 1 car back in 2011, but it was sporting less downforce for Lawson’s demo run at Mount Panorama. That being said, Lawson had expected to be in for a rougher ride. “Just crazy,” said Lawson in reflection with Speedcafe.com . “Just really crazy. “The first lap was honestly very daunting going up the hill with all the elevation, and I was quite nervous. “But by the second lap I actually got quite comfortable and the car was really good, so I loved it. “At points it was a bit rough, but for a Formula 1 car on this place, I expected it to be worse, just felt cool, just felt really cool. “Down Conrod, we were completely flat and was through The Chase, … [Read more...] about Liam Lawson takes in ‘really crazy’ Bathurst Formula 1 car run with Red Bull
