Do 72 pounds make a difference in the drag race results? The Ram TRX can cost over $100,000 if the buyer ticks all of the option boxes, and that figure is before considering the dealer markups that are common on the muscle truck. In a new video, The Fast Lane Truck gets ahold of a white TRX with just one option and drag races it against a fully loaded example. The only factory upgrade on the white TRX is a remote starter that gives the truck a total price of $72,385. The upholstery is a mix of cloth and vinyl, rather than leather, and there aren't heated seats. It lacks amenities like a trailer brake controller or trailer reverse steering control. The owner has added some small styling upgrades like vinyl decals, a red engine emblem, and Hellcat logos. The lightly-optioned truck has a payload that's 72 pounds (32.66 kilograms) less than the loaded pickup. Gasly says Verstappen the “perfect reference” for him
The French driver completed his first full campaign in the sport last year, racing for Honda-powered Toro Rosso, before he was promoted to Red Bull Racing for 2019 after Daniel Ricciardo decided to leave for Renault. Although Red Bull is convinced Gasly will be able to perform, team boss Christian Horner admitted the promotion came "faster than we would have liked". Gasly reckons racing alongside Verstappen, rated as one of the best drivers on the grid, will help him raise him game this season. "I think Max at the moment, based on the performance he showed last year - it's difficult, you know, to compare with Lewis [Hamilton] or Seb [Vettel] - but he's clearly one of the best and most talented guys in the paddock at the moment," Gasly told Motorsport.com. "So for me it's perfect to have a reference like him. "I'm sure it's going to be useful for myself to keep learning in Formula 1 and achieve a better performance for myself and I always find it good to have a fast … [Read more...] about Gasly says Verstappen the “perfect reference” for him
Red Bull admits Gasly promotion “earlier than we would’ve liked”
Gasly has been drafted in to replace Daniel Ricciardo, who has decided to switch to the Renault team for 2019. And although Red Bull has a history of being ruthless on drivers that do not perform, Horner says the outfit needs to be responsible with Gasly in letting him adjust to the step up to a top team so early in his Formula 1 career. “I think Pierre is a very quick driver and it is up to us to give him a little bit of time to get up to speed,” Horner told Motorsport.com. “It [his promotion to Red Bull] is faster than we would have originally liked to elevate him into the team, so Max [Verstappen] will be very much taking on the role of the experienced senior driver and Pierre is going to have to go up against a very competitive teammate.” Horner admitted that Gasly is not going to have a straightforward time in battling the experienced Verstappen, but he is clear the Frenchman knows what he needs to do. “It is not going to be easy,” he said. “Of course … [Read more...] about Red Bull admits Gasly promotion “earlier than we would’ve liked”
Ricciardo pole lap “came out of nowhere” – Horner
Max Verstappen had set the pace for most of the weekend, but lost out to his teammate in Q3 as Red Bull claimed its first qualifying 1-2 of the hybrid era that started in 2014. “It was mighty, it’s our first front row lockout since Austin 2013,” Horner told Motorsport.com. “A great performance by both drivers, but wow, what a lap by Daniel to come from nowhere, really. "To unleash that on his last run was absolutely outstanding. “It’s come right for Daniel big time today, and you could hear his enthusiasm and enjoyment on the radio on the slow down lap, and it was great to hear.” Ricciardo said his jubilant reaction after crossing the line didn’t do justice to how he was feeling to get his first F1 pole position anywhere other than Monaco. “I’m holding a lot in,” he said. “I let a bit out once I heard I got pole, but I’ve got to save some energy for tomorrow. “It’s been a while since getting a pole, but it’s been a while since we’ve had a good weekend in … [Read more...] about Ricciardo pole lap “came out of nowhere” – Horner
Toyota Supra Gets A Radical Body Kit From Avante Design
Yo, is that a Supra? The Toyota Supra is a hugely popular car amongst enthusiasts. Aside from its cinematic stardom in the Fast and Furious movies , the Japanese sports car has been a fantastic springboard for many in the aftermarket JDM industry. This body kit teased by Avante Design puts a unique twist on the Mk5 Supra’s factory aesthetic. Before Avante even touched the Toyota , they started off by looking at the JDM community for inspiration. As the Supra is such a popular vehicle within that circle, the design team wanted to ensure that the kit looked OEM while simultaneously capturing the essence of the meetups and camaraderie among enthusiasts.
