One of the strongest performances at Saturday’s Grand Prix of Indianapolis went unrewarded. Jack Harvey finished 23rd following a series of setbacks in the pit lane. Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free Until then the Meyer Shank racer had been in strong contention for his second visit to an IndyCar podium, and potentially his first career victory. Harvey started third and within two corners moved into second place at the expense of Josef Newgarden. He held onto the position, chasing Romain Grosjean , for much of the opening 37 laps of the race. Having been the highest driver to start on the harder black primary tyre compound, a strategy favoured by eventual winner Rinus VeeKay, Harvey was in a strong position. “We had a really great start and held P2 for a decent bit,” he said. “The strategy was just great and we had a five-second lead on the guy that ended up winning the race.” However Harvey’s victory chance came undone at his second routine pit stop … [Read more...] about More bad luck for Harvey ends victory hopes at Indianapolis · RaceFans

50 Most Expensive Cars In The World
When it comes to high-end hypercars and super-fast supercars, a few companies should come to mind first: Bugatti, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Rimac, and Pagani, among others. These manufacturers have cemented themselves as the top dogs in the supercar and hypercar space, extending to their wealthiest clientele the fastest, rarest, prettiest – and in this case – most expensive cars on the planet. But in order to find out which of these unattainable-to-most vehicles is the priciest, we've scoured the invoice sheets and uncovered 40 cars all worth $1 million or more. The group includes hybrid Ferrari convertibles, an American speed king , a few electric Hypercars , and two a one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce cars built for royalty. We should note, though: The prices listed here are the price of the vehicles when new. So we’re not counting auction cars like the Ferrari 250 GTO, or overpriced secondhand sales. But don’t worry, there’s still hundreds of millions worth of cars here to whet … [Read more...] about 50 Most Expensive Cars In The World

(BPT) - Solid hardwood floors are beautiful and timeless, adding value to any property. However, there's a misconception that real hardwood floors are difficult to maintain. The truth is that they can last for decades, as long you follow a few simple steps on a regular schedule. Championing health: Why a football legend is talking about pneumococcal pneumonia vaccination
(BPT) - Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana has been vocal about the importance of getting vaccinated against pneumococcal pneumonia — a potentially serious bacterial lung disease that can disrupt your life for weeks and, in severe cases, put you in the hospital and even be life-threatening. Harvey: Flexibility key to avoid a repeat of disastrous 2022
Listen to this article The highly-regarded Harvey had an unusually disappointing season last year, starting off badly with a shunts in practice at St. Petersburg and at Texas, the latter of which forced him to miss the race on medical advisement. Thereafter, regularly poor qualifying results limited his chances for strong finishes on race day, so that his best result was a 10 th at Nashville. And while RLL started off badly, a midseason change in setup philosophy saw Harvey’s teammates Christian Lundgaard and Graham Rahal contending for podiums, whereas the 29-year-old Briton remained mired. He finished 22 nd in the points race, compared with 11 th and 14 th for Rahal and Lundgaard respectively. Asked if he could explain what happened, Harvey replied: “Lots – lots of things happened. In terms of the specifics with the team, I think it's about, from my side, being a little more flexible with the car and the feeling I was hoping to get from the car. “I think … [Read more...] about Harvey: Flexibility key to avoid a repeat of disastrous 2022
Return of the modest superstar, Larry Dixon
Listen to this article It’s not hard to remember times when NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series fields were over-subscribed with racers vying to make the fields of 16 that race in Sunday eliminations. Go or go home was the mantra. The financial demands of big-time drag racing have taken their toll on fields in the past few years and some drivers and teams have, due to financial hardship, departed the sport, no longer able to function at the highest standards. That wasn’t the case for three-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon. True, he lost his ride with Bob Vandergriff Racing (BVR) at the end of the 2015 season when Leah Pritchett brought sponsorship to the team, but at the time Dixon had been dealing with an even bigger battle than one with a 10,000-horsepower-plus dragster. He was recovering from throat cancer; Dixon needed to beat that devil to the winner’s beam. After whipping throat cancer with radiation and chemotherapy over the 2014 off-season (he called it … [Read more...] about Return of the modest superstar, Larry Dixon
