Not long after winning last year’s title alongside Naoki Yamamoto for the Kunimitsu Honda squad, Makino was struck by a bout of meningitis that left him hospitalised for a month. The 23-year-old missed the start of the SUPER GT season at Okayama and the opening two races of the Super Formula campaign at Fuji and Suzuka. Hideki Mutoh replaced Makino alongside Yamamoto at Okayama, but for this week’s second round at Fuji – which will be run over 500km instead of the standard 300km – all three drivers will be sharing the #1 Honda NSX-GT . Yes, we heard you. The new generation of the Civic isn't for everyone. Truth be told, the new generation Honda Civic is receiving some serious backlash in terms of its exterior styling. The understatement has practically turned the previously boy-racer-type sedan into a mature-looking smaller brother of the Honda Accord . It's like the nameplate is all grown-up now ready to suit up for the corporate world. While some people (like myself) aren't entirely offended by this move, we've seen others who have been bashing the automaker for this design direction. So much so that unofficial requests for redesign have been thrown around – and TheSketchMonkey on YouTube has answered the call. Beyond the machine, that's a seriously skilled person behind the wheel. Being associate with the Ford Escape urban crossover isn't working well for the Ford Bronco Sport . Some say it's not a real Bronco, while others point out that it isn't worthy of the name. That's despite having off-road technologies such as a standard all-wheel-drive system, the GOAT (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) Modes, and a trick rear-drive unit with a differential lock function. The smaller version of the returning Ford Bronco nameplate does have a lot to prove to its naysayers, and this video posted by professional drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. on Facebook might be the perfect answer. According to Gittin's post, the man behind the wheel of his Bronco Sport was Loren Healy – a very popular name in the off-roading community. As you can see in the embedded video above, Healy conquered Hell's Gate like it was a walk in the park. This could be the most effortless Hell's Gate climb we've ever … [Read more...] about Watch Ford Bronco Sport Conquer Hell’s Gate Like A Walk In The Park

Seven-time world champion Hamilton signed a new one-year contract with Mercedes for the 2021 season back in February, raising questions about his long-term future. But Hamilton has already said his future beyond 2021 is not dependent on winning a record-breaking eighth world title this year, nor does it feel like it will be his final season in F1. Hamilton took part in a tyre test with Pirelli at Imola last week following the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, conducted running on a set of its development 18-inch tyres for 2022. Hamilton is known not to be a fan of additional testing, and joked that he "immediately regretted" volunteering when he woke up ahead of the Imola running, but felt that it was important to help Pirelli with its tyres for 2022. "It was a really great track to test at so I enjoyed the day and the weather was good," Hamilton said. "Yes, I think I plan to be here next year, and I want to be a part of it and I want to help Pirelli and helping them lead … [Read more...] about Hamilton happy to end Pirelli test reluctance with view to 2022
