Sluggish drivers could get a $90 fine. Idaho is the latest state punishing slow-driving motorists for blocking the passing lane. The state's law came into effect on July 1, and since then the cops have ticketed two lackadaisical drivers for clogging the left lane. In addition, three people received warnings. The punishment is a $90 fine. “If vehicles are moving slower, it can cause accidents and crashes,” Idaho State Police Lt. Shawn Staley told The Idaho Press. “Guys will make traffic stops on it. But it would have to be fairly egregious.”“It is a pet peeve for most motorists. We as officers are just like most people,” Lt. Staley said. “If we see a problem that can be dangerous, we will issue citations.” Watch Out Slowpokes: Nevada Outlaws Left Lane Slow Pokes Left-lane bandits in Virginia will soon face minimum $250 fine Under Idaho's law, driver's must be going under the speed limit in the left lane to get … [Read more...] about Watch Out Left-Lane Bandits, Idaho Police Can Ticket You Now

Study Shows Police Are Scanning Our License Plates, Keeping Records
Big brother is watching Can you imagine a situation where local police officers across the country are scanning your license plate, and likely have a record of where your vehicle has been when they pass it throughout the day? It might sound like a line pulled right out of George Orwell’s “1984” novel, but according to a study from the ACLU, this is a very real practice. The American Civil Liberties Union study found that cameras at bridges, stoplights and on the backs of police cars are recording the plates of vehicles parked or driving in their vicinity. These records can be kept for weeks or months, and in some cases are retained indefinitely. As technology evolves and more tools are at the disposal of both criminals and law enforcement agencies, it begs the question– how does this technology affect law-abiding citizens? “There's just a fundamental question,” according to Catherine Crump, an attorney with the ACLU, “of … [Read more...] about Study Shows Police Are Scanning Our License Plates, Keeping Records
Tesla Cybertruck Widebody Rendering Stretches The Concept Further
That looks pretty neat. Another day, another Tesla Cybertruck rendering. Can't say we're not pleased – it's actually refreshing to see different takes on the newest Tesla's radical design. Some channeled their creativity through memes while some took it a bit overboard by adding a popular combustion engine into the Cybertruck's bed. Several visual artists have done their fair share of trying, but this one from Jonsibal on Facebook should go home with the title of being the best Cybertruck redesign. Just take a gander at the embedded Facebook post below. Just when we thought the Cybertruck will never look good, this rendering might have actually solved the styling issues of the electric truck. With body panels that have a different texture, the Cybertruck was given a classier metallic appeal. The wide fender flares also gave the truck a bit more character and better proportions, too. However, we can't help but criticize the lowered stance of this rendering. … [Read more...] about Tesla Cybertruck Widebody Rendering Stretches The Concept Further

The Society of India Automobile Manufacturers has played an important role, along with Government of India, to ensure FASTags are brought to the forefront of the tolling system in the country. One mission that was recently accomplished was the fitment of FASTags for new passenger vehicles, buses, and trucks, sold from 1 December 2017 onward at the automotive dealers end. Over six million FASTags have been issued until recently. This ensured growth in FASTags transactions at all toll plazas across the national highway network in the country. SIAM says that FASTag is an important steps taken by the Government of India in order to achieve is … [Read more...] about FASTag Implementation Will Enable Seamless Movement Of Vehicles Across India: SIAM
Tesla Cybertruck Render Imagines Changes Required To Reach Production
Looking better now? Through the last few days, we’ve seen a fair share of renderings with the Tesla Cybertruck - from a police car for Dubai, to a Cyberwagon, to a Cybertruck Hellcat. However, none of them tries to put production clothes on the all-electric truck and we decided to imagine a more civilized, road-legal version with an exclusive virtual drawing. The Cybertruck is still only a prototype which doesn’t necessarily mean it will retain its basic shape for the production variant. However, if we assume that Tesla wants to keep the edgy shape, the zero-emission workhorse would definitely need proper headlights to replace the thin strip at the front. The clusters seen in this rendering are still quite minimalistic but should be more than enough to accommodate projector lenses for the LED lamps.
