Soon after launching the facelifted Honda Fit (Honda Jazz) in Japan last year, Honda introduced a Cross Style accessory package for it. In the latest, Mag-X has created a rendering of the next-gen Honda Fit Cross Style.Unlike in India and Latin America, Honda doesn’t sell the WR-V in Japan. The current Honda Fit Cross Style isn’t as rugged as the Honda WR-V, but the rendered next-gen Honda Fit Cross Style seems more adventurous. The wannabe crossover appears to have black body cladding all around, and it features flush roof rails too. The rendering previews a Honda Civic-inspired headlamp and upper grille design as well. The biggest news expected from the next-gen Honda Jazz is about its Hybrid variant, which will employ the all-new i-MMD two-motor hybrid powertrain. The current Honda Jazz Hybrid and other small hybrid models from Honda use the i-DCD single-motor hybrid powertrain. The i-MMD system was initially costlier because it comprised a 2.0-litre engine and two … [Read more...] about Next-gen Honda Fit/Honda Jazz Cross Style
Honda hoppers crossing motorcycles
One thing we have learnt from the Honda WR-V is that Honda is open to pseudo crossovers if that’s what is required to push more UVs into emerging markets. With the 2018 Honda Brio out yesterday, it didn’t take IAB’s 'renderings man' Shoeb Kalania long to work on a potential Honda Brio Cross.A Honda Brio Cross could help Honda target customers seeking cars like the Ford Freestyle (Ford KA+ Active/Ford Ka Freestyle) and Hyundai Grand i10X. Reports have said that Honda will sell the second generation Brio in Latin America where there prevails significant potential for pseudo crossovers. If Honda does launch the city car in the Americas, it could study the adventure variant for a later stage. The Honda Brio Cross has a rugged character with features like faux skid plates in a grey finish, blacked-out lower front bumper and black wheel arch extensions, mirrors rocker cladding, side door cladding and flush roof bars. The Cross variant could have a softer suspension setup and … [Read more...] about Honda Brio Cross (Ford Freestyle rival)
Honda has taken the wraps off its new CRF450L dual sport motorcycle, and we are glued. The 2019 Honda CRF450L is essentially a motocross machine hiding in road-legal clothing. It is based on a proper motocross bike, the CRF450R. But the CRF450L has been softened, detuned, and has LED lights all around to be legal for road use. However, its body plastics closely resemble the competition bike, which makes it all the more attractive. It is powered by a liquid-cooled fuel-injected 449cc unicam single that produces only 25PS. That may not be much, but it should serve to make the lightweight manageable by a bigger audience. Don't even dream of seeing one in India yet, but we can always hope HMSI is reading this (wink). The new Honda CRF450L also features a 7.6-litre fuel tank. The low power figure on the 2019 CRF450L seems to have been a result of meeting Euro4 emission regulations. The engine has a three-ring piston for longevity, and the compression is down from 13.5:1 to 12:1. Another … [Read more...] about New Honda CRF450L enduro motorcycle unveiled
