For the first time in the Indian two-wheeler industry, Hero MotoCorp has created a record with 7,587,130 unit two-wheeler sales from April 2017 to March 2018. This translates to a growth of 13.84 percent over the previous fiscal. In March 2018, the brand clocked its highest ever monthly sale of 730,473. This amounts to a 20% growth over the same month last year. In the same month, the brand inaugurated its 8th manufacturing plant in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2018 Hero Passion Pro and 2018 Hero Passion XPro in India at Rs 53,189 and Rs 54,189, respectively. These launches come just days after the launch of the 2018 Hero Super Splendor. The two Hero Passion motorcycles have received a slight bump in power and minor styling updates for the 2018 model year. We think that the 2018 Passion Pro is among the most stylish looking 110cc commuter motorcycles. It also features a new part-digital instrument cluster that integrates digital readouts for the odometer, speedometer and fuel gauge apart from a side-stand indicator. The Passion Pro is powered by Hero's new, vertically-inclined, 109cc air-cooled single cylinder engine that debuted on the Splendor iSmart last year. Two-wheeler OEMs on a high in January 2018
The Indian two-wheeler industry recorded impressive YoY growth of 33.43 percent in January 2018 at 1,684,066 units. Harley-Davidson India and Mahindra Two Wheelers were the only two OEMs that failed to report a positive growth. While scooters recorded the fastest growth of more than 48 percent YoY, motorcycle sales grew by 28.64 percent YoY. Meanwhile, the mopeds, category wherein TVS Motor Company commands a monopoly in the domestic market, saw YoY growth of 10 percent.While Hero MotoCorp more than doubled its scooter sales in January (from 34,949 units in January 2017 to 76,062 units in January 2018), Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) stood out as the largest YoY volume gainer. Hero Duet 125 and Maestro Edge 125 Unveiled at 2018 Auto Expo
Hero MotoCorp today unveiled the new Duet 125 and Maestro Edge 125 at the 2018 Auto Expo, signalling its entry into the fast growing 125cc scooter segment. An upgrade from Hero’s previous 110cc-engined scooters, the new models from India’s largest bikemaker share the same 125cc engine but have been built with different aims in mind. 2018 Hero Passion Pro, XPro, Super Splendor – First Ride Review
