The new Bajaj Platina 100 ES is offered with a price tag starting at Rs 53,920, ex-showroom (Delhi); making it the most affordable motorcycle in India with an electric-start function. The new Platina 100 comes with a refreshed look, offered with a number of new features and equipment, along with a few subtle cosmetic updates as well. This includes new rear-view mirrors and new body graphics offering a more youthful styling. It also comes with LED DRLs on the headlamp units, wide rubber footpads, a longer seat offering more comfort for both rider and pillion and two new colour options: Cocktail Wine Red & Ebony Black with Silver decals. This is the little hatchback's second COTY triumph. The new Toyota Yaris was named European Car of the Year for 2021 . The Japanese hatchback took the crown leaving behind models such as the Fiat 500, Cupra Formentor, Volkswagen ID.3, Skoda Octavia, Land Rover Defender, and Citröen C4. Just like every year, this year’s ECOTY ceremony was scheduled to be held during the Geneva Motor Show . The show was canceled for 2021 though, and the organizers had to run the event at the same location (Palexpo in Geneva) and broadcast it worldwide. In January this year, the Toyota Yaris was announced as a finalist in the competition, together with six other cars from different categories. In order to be eligible to participate in the contest, a model has to be new and on sale now or before the year’s end in five or more European markets. Just when you thought the AMG GT R couldn’t get any meaner... The Mercedes-AMG GT can be had in a few different flavors. The standard offering is the GT Coupe, which pumps out a respectable 469 horsepower (349 kilowatts). Somewhere in the middle of the lineup is the GT C , which is a bit more performance-oriented and produces 550 hp (410 kW). At the top of the range is the track-ready GT R, which churns out a hefty 577 hp (430 kW). There’s even a new four-door GT . But even with all those options, one German tuning shop thinks the AMG GT could use more power. Renntech now offers an upgrade package for the AMG GT R that delivers anywhere from 612 to 825 hp (456 to 615 kW), depending on the trim. The latter of the two options is dubbed the AMG GT R825, and along with more horsepower, adds a whopping 626 pound-feet (850 Newton-meters) of torque to the equation. Both are performance coupes, but there are some major differences between one another. After pitting the original NSX against a new Civic Type R a month ago, the British folks over at Carwow have taken the latest and greatest NSX to duel Mercedes-AMG’s Beast of the Green Hell, the GT R. While they’re both performance cars in coupe shape, that’s pretty much where the similarities end as there are some huge differences worth noting. For starters, the very green AMG is rear-wheel drive whereas the NSX has an all-paw arrangement allowing it to better channel power to the wheels in a drag race. Then there’s the powertrain, a conventional biturbo 4.0-liter V8 in the GT R compared to an intricate biturbo 3.5-liter V6 working together with three electric motors. Affalterbach’s weapon has 577 horsepower and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) on tap while the hybrid Acura/Honda supercar offers a lower combined output of 573 hp and 476 lb-ft (645 Nm).
