Home Two wheelers oi-Athul By Athul Published: Monday, August 15, 2022, 11:38 [IST] While Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) had now confirmed its upcoming new scooter. The new scooter is not the 'Activa 7G', but it is actually the upcoming Premium Edition of the Honda Activa 6G. The latest bombshell of news was confirmed with Honda's latest teaser that revealed the silhouette and badging of the upcoming Honda Activa scooter. The revealed badging reads 'Activa Premium Edition' instead of 'Activa 7G' many of us had hoped for. That being said, we expect Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India to launch the upcoming Honda Activa Premium Edition before the festive season and capitalise on the sales push achieved during the festive season. Such a launch will not only improve the sales of the Honda Activa scooter, but it will also increase the footfall at dealerships across the country. This will positively impact … [Read more...] about Honda Activa 6G Premium Edition Teased

Kawasaki “can’t be disappointed” with second in Suzuka 8 Hours
Listen to this article 2019 champion Kawasaki lacked the pace to defend its crown on the return of the Suzuka enduro after a two-year hiatus, with Haslam, Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes finishing a lap down on the winning Honda crew comprising Tetsuta Nagashima, Takumi Takahashi and Iker Lecuona. Although Haslam could battle with Takahashi in the early laps and even briefly took the lead, aided by a safety car appearance, it soon became clear that the ZX-10RR was no match for the CBR1000RR-R and the Kawasaki trio continued to slip backwards during the race. A third-hour race intervention further dented its chances as Lowes was picked up by the second of two safety cars, before a fall for Rea in traffic eliminated any opportunity for a comeback. However, Haslam feels Kawasaki should be satisfied with its performance in the Japanese endurance classic, even if it fell short of scoring back-to-back victories after its 2019 triumph. “It's always nice to finish the 8 Hour but … [Read more...] about Kawasaki “can’t be disappointed” with second in Suzuka 8 Hours
Franz Tost feels Charles Leclerc is ‘two tenths faster’ than Carlos Sainz
Charles Leclerc is essentially a faster driver than Carlos Sainz judged on raw speed, according to Franz Tost. The AlphaTauri team principal has only worked with one of the two Ferrari racers, that being Sainz, but appears adamant about his opinion. With the 66-year-old Austrian having been the Red Bull sister team’s boss since 2005 following the buyout of Minardi, he oversaw Sainz’s introduction to Formula 1 in 2015 alongside Max Verstappen in an all-rookie line-up. After nearly three seasons with Toro Rosso, the Spaniard joined Renault in October 2017, moved to McLaren for the 2019 campaign and then Ferrari as Leclerc’s team-mate in 2021. Despite finishing 5.5 points above Leclerc in last season’s Drivers’ standings, Sainz has largely had to play second fiddle to the Monegasque this term and currently trails him by 22 points and three race wins to one. In addition, Leclerc can feel as though he has missed out on dozens of points – potentially even another six … [Read more...] about Franz Tost feels Charles Leclerc is ‘two tenths faster’ than Carlos Sainz
Red Bull open to Pierre Gasly exit: ‘Yuki Tsunoda already as quick over one lap’
Red Bull appear to be opening the door for Pierre Gasly to pursue other opportunities when his contract expires at the end of the 2023 season. Gasly finds himself bumping his head on a glass ceiling within the Red Bull programme, having worked his way up through the ranks and into the main senior team seat alongside Max Verstappen in 2019 only to be demoted to junior team again after just 12 races. The pathway back to the senior team for Gasly appears to be blocked as they have found a more solid option in the vastly experienced Sergio Perez and, even if Perez was no longer a Red Bull driver, it would not be a dead certainty that Gasly would have a second bite of the cherry. There is a strong desire in the Formula 1 community to see Gasly follow in the footsteps of Carlos Sainz and break away from the Red Bull family and go his own way. Judging by comments made by Helmut Marko via the French branch of Motorsport.com , people may get their wish at the end of next season. … [Read more...] about Red Bull open to Pierre Gasly exit: ‘Yuki Tsunoda already as quick over one lap’
COTA boss Bobby Epstein makes the case for more than three US races
Formula 1 will have three races in the United States next year – and Circuit of The Americas boss Bobby Epstein sees the potential for more. Epstein presides over the US Grand Prix in Austin, which was joined on the 2022 calendar, in its usual date in the second half of October by the inaugural Miami street circuit race, which took place in May. From 2023, those grands prix will be joined by another in Las Vegas, set to be rostered for mid-November . But such is the growing popularity of F1 with an American audience, in no small part due to Netflix docuseries ‘Drive to Survive’, that Epstein does not necessarily see the line being drawn at three races per season in the US. “The demand in the US right now is incredible and will definitely carry three races – and it could carry a lot more,” said the COTA executive chairman, quoted by Motorsport.com . Epstein was speaking in reference to ticket sales for this year’s United States Grand Prix on the weekend of October … [Read more...] about COTA boss Bobby Epstein makes the case for more than three US races
