Four years later, the subsequent production version debuted at the same Frankfurt Motor Show as the concept from which it largely inherited the sleek styling. Fast forward to February 2023, a cleverly disguised prototype of the facelifted version has been spotted cold-weather testing. With good reason, you might be tempted to say nothing has changed. However, a closer look at the front bumper shows a body-colored disguise to conceal the air intakes positioned under the headlights on the current Taycan . That black tape hides potential changes to the bumper that could extend to the center. This sounds a bit familiar: A new group has launched a rescue bid for the Super Aguri team, who were only able to contest last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix thanks to an 11th-hour rescue package from Honda . The Weigl Group , a German company which describes itself as “an independent, growth-orientated partner for the automobile industry on the global market”, has stepped in to provide the ?�?�6.5m the team needs to complete the 2008 season according to Autosport . This would be a relief not just to boss Aguri Suzuki, drivers Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson, and the workers at its Leafield headquarters, but also to Bernie Ecclestone, who is required to provide a minimum of 20 cars at each race , and would have been left with just 20 had Aguri gone under. The two Lotus drivers say the balance of their car has suffered now they have to run without front-rear interconnected suspension. All teams have removed the FRIC systems from their cars after the FIA advised it may no longer consider them legal. Pastor Maldonado , who failed to progress beyond the first part of qualifying, said “we are still working on gaining back some of the performance we have lost from the changes to the suspension”. “I think we can recover this pace, but it’s certainly affecting us. Sebastian Vettel could continue on as a director of the GPDA with drivers waiting until the new season to give the German the chance to mull it over. The four-time World Champion, who retired from Formula 1 at the end of the 2022 season, has served as a director of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA) since 2010, becoming a popular member within the paddock. Despite his retirement, which came after 299 races, Vettel’s departure from the GPDA is not a certainty as even those currently without a seat are permitted to stay on in the role. Chairman Alex Wurz is an example of that, with the Austrian last racing in F1 in 2007 but he returned seven years later to take up his current position.
