Volvo Car Malaysia has launched the new 3-door Volvo C30 in Malaysia, which Volvo says is a modern interpretation of the Volvo P1800 ES combined with styling cues from the Volvo Safety Concept car. Read more about the new C30 after the jump. Under the hood is a similiar 2.4 litre inline-5 engine from the S40 producing 170 horsepower at 6,000rpm and 230Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. It goes up to a top speed of 215km/h, and gets up to 100km/h in 8.8 seconds. Shifting is via a 5-speed Geartronic automatic transmission with the option for manual sequential shifting. The car is a four-seater as there is no flat rear bench but two individual seats. The space between the seats is filled up with an armrest. However folding down these two individual seats creates a flat floor for easy loading. Who would have thought in 1981 that a small 500-vehicle car show would become the premiere Chrysler car show in the world? this year, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary. We have come a long way, and quite a few of you have been there from the very start. It all started as an alternative idea to the Street Machine Nationals. But we wanted an event that offered more venues, (Drag Racing, Show and Shine, Swap meet, and Manufacturers display), and was exclusively for Mopars. The idea became a reality, and the first event was held at the Chrysler Proving Grounds. For the drag racing portion, Milan Dragway was the scene of the action. we started off with only seven vendors. A far cry from the almost 1,800 of today. We have gone through some growing pains over the years, but survived due to the successful format. It’s a family event, which has something for everyone.
