Longstanding US tuner Steeda has launched a 480bhp version of the Ford Mustang that it calls the Q500 Enforcer.Steeda, which sells a range of modified Ford models in its native market, has reengineered the right-hand-drive Mustang with both powertrain and chassis upgrades to produce a harder, more focused model.Key changes under the bonnet include fitment of an uprated intake and exhaust system that enables faster movement of gases through the 5.0-litre V8 engine. The car’s new peak outputs of 480bhp and 485lb ft of torque, which beat the 444bhp and 389lb ft of the 2018 Mustang GT, are achieved with customised engine mapping. The two-door model gets a new chassis setup, which Steeda said benefitted from test runs on a circuit. Adjustable suspension set to Steeda’s own spring rates are accompanied by thicker front and rear anti-roll bars, complete with solid billet ends and mounts, that substantially reduce slack. Additionally, the Q500 Enforcer wears a strut brace and gets … [Read more...] about Steeda Ford Mustang Q500 Enforcer launched with 480bhp V8
The rumored return of the Ford Mustang Bullitt looks to be true. An unnamed source has told Automotive News the model will debut at the Detroit Auto Show. The Bullitt will arrive for the 2018 model year, according to the report, in time for the 50th anniversary of Steve McQueen’s film of the same name. Performance-wise, expect the suspension to be worked but power numbers may stay the same. Ford has just released the refreshed Mustang Stateside and rates the 5.0-litre at 343kW with 570Nm of torque. The Bullitt Mustang was first spotted during a photoshoot in Chicago, Illinois last year. The lighting and the quality of the photos is lacking but the grey wheels with polished lips hark to both the previous Bullitt Mustang and the car in the movie. The rear end features a crosshair badge that also looks like the older Bullitt model. The 1968 GT 390 fastback model in the Bullitt film is kitted with a dark-green paintjob, and a blacked-out grille. The ten-minute dual between … [Read more...] about Ford Mustang Bullitt debuting in Detroit?
Before 2017 came to an end, photos of a new Ford Mustang Bullitt hit the Internet. The pictures revealed a 2018 Mustang redone in the same way as the pony car Steve McQueen drove in the 1968 film Bullitt. While the photos all but confirmed that Ford was working on a Bullitt Mustang, we didn’t know when the car would make an official appearance. Thanks to an eagle-eyed member of Mustang 6G forum, we now know that the 2018 version of the pony car will be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction on January 19.According to the forum, one of its members managed to track down Lot #3006, which is listed as being a “Ford Charity Vehicle.” While that tidbit of information doesn’t exactly point towards a new Bullitt Mustang, it looks like Barrett-Jackson used the silhouette of the original Bullitt Mustang – a 1968 Mustang GT 390 Fastback – as the image of the vehicle being auctioned off.In addition to the image, another clue can be found in … [Read more...] about Long-Awaited Ford Mustang Bullitt Coming To Barrett-Jackson
The GT500 is still the most exciting Mustang variant that Ford is rumored to bring to the Detroit Auto Show. But last month, we caught wind of another Mustang that Ford might be working on: the Bullitt. At the time, the car we thought was a Mustang Bullitt looked production-ready, but we had no idea when it would make its first official appearance. Now, thanks to some fan-forum sleuthing, it looks like the Bullitt will debut next week in Detroit.Over at the Mustang6G fan forum, users noticed that Barrett-Jackson includes a mysterious car for its January 19 auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. Lot #3006 is listed as a “FORD CHARITY VEHICLE” and described as “a special new Ford Mustang to be sold with 100% of the hammer price benefiting charity.” That information alone doesn’t give much away, but that’s partly because the listing was changed after it went live. The screenshot above was captured by Mustang6G and shows the … [Read more...] about Auction Listing Hints at Ford Mustang Bullitt Debut in Detroit
We knew a Ford Mustang Bullitt was coming a while ago, most likely at the Detroit auto show next week. Now we know approximately when the first one will be sold too, thanks to a Barrett-Jackson auction listing. The folks over at Mustang6G.com found an online auction listing for a “special new Ford Mustang” to be sold Friday, January 19 in Scottsdale, AZ.This new Mustang is to be sold with 100 percent of the hammer price benefitting the Boys Republic charity. Auctioning cars for charity is a normal thing to do, but this specific charity is significant because it runs a school for troubled youths in Chino Hills, CA that Steve McQueen attended in 1946. Of course, McQueen was the man who piloted the original Dark Highland Green Mustang in the famous 1968 movie, Bullitt. This “coincidence” all but guarantees we’ll see the new Bullitt at the auction, if not at the Detroit auto show.An imminent introduction for the Bullitt doesn’t come as a surprise.
