It wasn’t too long ago that the Ford Mustang was first introduced to the UK, going on-sale officially here in 2016 for the first time in the model’s 44-year history – but barely two years on, and we have a facelifted car. The iconic V8 muscle car has been quite a success since arriving in Europe – having sold more than 33,000 units since landing on this side of the pond – and the American firm is hoping more technology and a fresh face can continue its initial success. What’s new? The big focus on the facelifted Mustang for Ford has been improving its previous Euro NCAP safety rating from two stars to a targeted three. As a result, it now features pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection technology along with lane-keep assistance. That’s not the … [Read more...] about First Drive: The Ford Mustang continues to be the definitive muscle car experience

Ford is working on a new Shelby GT500! Maybe. All around the car internet, we've seen spy photos and rumblings of a new, hotter Mustang and the name Shelby GT500 is being bandied about. Advertisement - Continue Reading Below We don't know what these prototypes are, what's powering them, or if they're an indication that something cool is headed for production. But, there are too many rumors to ignore, so we've compiled them all here. And while we don't know what this Mustang will be called (if it reaches production, that is), we're going to refer to it as the GT500 from here on out.The GT500 is seen as Ford's answer to the 650-hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the 707-hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat, so everyone is predicting it'll get a powerful V8. No one seems to agree on what sort of V8, however. As our colleagues at Car and Driver … [Read more...] about 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: Rumor Roundup
Like most human beings on this big blue marble, we loath change. From our daily routine to our favorite TV shows to the most anticipated Mustang and Ford events of the year. Change brings out the fear in all of us. I have to get up earlier now to get to work on time? My favorite show is moving to Thursday nights and conflicts with another show I watch? My “kick off” Mustang event is not returning next year and this is the last one? Yep, we hate change! So when we heard shortly after 2017’s Silver Springs Ford & Mustang Roundup that the event would be holding a final show in 2018 we knew we had to be there, even if it meant a knot in our stomach as we said goodbye to all of the attendees we’ve met over the years that kept coming back year after year.Since its inception by local Mustang clubs we’ve attended every single event. Early on it was as an attendee in our Fox Mustang, for a few years we even tag-teamed it with the wife, bringing her Explorer … [Read more...] about The 24th and Final Silver Springs Ford & Mustang Roundup
Which ever good ol’boy it was who first bawled the phrase ‘There ain’t no replacement for displacement!’ way back when – almost certainly from beneath the wide brim of a Stetson, rye whiskey held aloft – he probably had a point at the time.If you wanted to go faster, you needed more cubes. But in the age of smartphones and cryptocurrencies, it’s a bit of a quaint notion. There are, after all, countless other ways of making a car shift along more quickly, such as hybridisation and turbocharging, or perhaps using clever lightweight materials so that what displacement you do have can work a lot harder. 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt revealed And yet, there really is no replacement for displacement. Nothing else comes close to the soaring soundtrack of a great big atmospheric engine, and nothing matches the frantic power delivery – the kind that makes you screw your face into a tight ball – that you get from six or eight big unassisted … [Read more...] about Ford Mustang versus Chevrolet Camaro: muscle car twin test
If you go weak in the knees everytime you spot a Mustang, you are not alone my friend! We are in the same boat as you. And today, we have some good news! The 2018 Ford Mustang has been spotted in India. The updated version of the muscle car was spotted at a stockyard in its blue shade without any camouflage and is expected to pack 446PS under the large bonnet. Earlier, there were reports that the updated version of the pony car would come to India in 2018. This picture makes those rumours credible. However, since Ford has decided to stay away from Auto Expo 2018, we expect the carmaker to officially reveal the updated Mustang before the event, which commences on February 9, 2018. Meanwhile, Ford is expected to launch the pony car by Q3 this year. The 2018 Mustang GT continues to be powered by the same 5.0-litre, naturally-aspirated V8 motor. However, both the power and torque figures have received a bump this time around. Compared to the current … [Read more...] about 2018 Ford Mustang Is Almost Here!
