We at Jalopnik get alerted to a lot of Craigslist ads. It makes sense: Craigslist is one of the very best mediums for buying or selling a used vehicle, if you know what you’re doing. But one ad we were sent this weekend makes a lot of rookie mistakes, and I feel like we could all use it as an example of what not to do. The ad is for a 2007 Ford F-150 Lariat Crew Cab 4x4, and it’s for sale in Honolulu. Not a bad used truck purchase at all. But let’s take a look at the description in that ad: ALL THE GLORY HONOR PRAISES MY WORSHIP TO JESUS THE SON OF GOD HIS LOVE DIED FOR OUR SINS SHED HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD JESUS LAMB GOD NAILED OUR SINS HIS BODY HAVING DISARMED EVIL POWERS PRINCIPALITIES MADE IT PUBLIC SPECTACLE JESUS ROSE AGAIN ON THIRD DAY JESUS IS LORD HE OVERCOME THE WORLD HE IS RISEN, PRECIOUS BLOOD JESUS LAMB GOD PRESENCE GOD JESUS FIRE HOLY SPIRIT POWER LIVING WORD OF GOD, IN JESUS CHRIST BREAK ALL USA TAKE OVER BY WHITE MAN KUNKLE BIG LIES BIG MOUTHS HAWAIIAN … [Read more...] about This Is Not A Great Way To Sell Your Vehicle On Craigslist
(By Tim Hailey) – Big Money payouts continue to flow from the Midwest’s largest motorcycle drag racing series—NHDRO—into the hands of winning racers. This past weekend it was the bracket racers’ turn during the APE Summer Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway near Indianapolis, Indiana. On a day where the heat and humidity made it difficult for anyone in leathers and helmet to focus on racing even one bike, Iowa racer Bruce Damewood rode BOTH of his entries into the final of Saturday’s $5000-to-win MPS Pro ET race. An example of what it took for Damewood to get in that position can be found in round 6, where his .002 light and .001 off his 8.19 dial-in were absolutely necessary to get past Dalton Markham’s .005 and 8.735/8.73. Just for kicks, Damewood nailed a .000 bulb on his bye run with the other bike in the same round. With one bike having a bye in one semifinal, Damewood still had to race Dalton’s father John “Spooky” … [Read more...] about NHDRO Results From Indy – Bad Ass Bikes On A Bad Ass Track Makes For Big Fun!

There’s a lot of articles and talk and hand-wringing and general grousing about how people are just not as happy as they used to be, that everyone is lonely, and adults have no friends. Sometimes social media gets blamed, or it’s something either Millennials or Baby Boomers did, because they’re all jerks. But nobody seems to realize the real problem here: Our cars have become too reliable. That’s right! I said it! Our cars are too damn reliable. That’s why you’re sad and lonely—because your car never leaves you stranded, never demands anything of you beyond money, and is too boring for anyone to give a shit about. That’s why I’m convinced that, to have a truly happy, fulfilling life, you need to drive a funreliable car. That stupid word there, funreliable, that’s the key to all this. As you have likely surmised with your big, wet, pulsating brain, the word is a portmanteau of fun and unreliable, two concepts that normally seem … [Read more...] about To Be Truly Happy, You Need A Funreliable Car
