There's a single I-Pace trim level for the new model year. Back in 2019, Jaguar became the first manufacturer to claim victory in three different categories of the World Car of the Year awards with the I-Pace . The electric crossover was praised for its good looks, exceptional performance, and every-day capability - and the British manufacturer wants to build upon these major achievements with the updated version for the 2022 model year. On the outside, it may look like just a minor refresh as there are no significant changes over the previous model. Look closer and you may see the new Atlas Grey grille tip finish, which could be optionally supplemented by the Bright Pack package. It consists of a Noble Chrome grille surround, Atlas Grey door mirror caps and rear diffuser, and Satin Chrome window surrounds. Fast paced vs slow paced life
New series boss Frederic Lequein and Pierre Fillon, president of WEC promoter the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, have ruled out making further technical changes to the P2s after this weekend's 2021 season opener at Spa. Lequein, who has replaced Gerard Neveu as WEC chief executive officer for this year, said: "LMP2 we will not touch: we will not reduce the performance of the LMP2s." Fillon added: "We will not slow down the P2s, we have done a lot [already]; now the question is the performance of the Hypercars." The LMP2s have been given a 50kW or 65bhp power reduction for this season and a 20kg increase in minimum weight, while they must also must run in low-downforce aerodynamic configuration at all tracks. The measures have been devised to push the P2s behind the Hypercars, which are approximately five seconds a lap slower than than their LMP1 predecessors around a regular WEC circuit. Lequein and Fillon reiterated the position laid out on Wednesday by the ACO and … [Read more...] about WEC won’t slow down LMP2 cars if further tweaks needed

Tsunoda started the Azerbaijan race from seventh on the grid despite a crash in the final part of qualifying, and after a strong run he was sixth at the time of the late red flag. At the restart gained a spot when Lewis Hamilton went straight on at the first corner, but over the rest of the lap he lost places to both Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso before claiming seventh at the flag. Tost says that the rookie put on a "fantastic show" on his way to his best result to date in F1. "Yuki did a fantastic job, I must say," said Tost. "Okay he had yesterday the small incident, but it was in Q3, and can happen, it happened also to more experienced drivers. "And today his race pace sometimes was unbelievable. I was really worried that something happens, because he was really fast. "He is in a very good way, and I think that he will come up with some good results also in the second half of the season when he gets a little bit more experienced, especially on race tracks which … [Read more...] about Tsunoda’s Baku pace so fast Tost feared he would crash
Bottas set the pace in the early running using medium-compound Pirellis – the C3 this weekend – by lapping 0.251s quicker than Hamilton with a time of 1m31.110s. While he didn't make a massive improvement on his quick lap using softs later in the session, posting a 1m30.937s, this was enough to top the session by 0.424s. Hamilton's fast run on softs was ruined by the rear stepping out at Turn 3, which sent him sliding sideways and behind at the exit of the corner then across the track and onto the Turn 4 runoff. He rejoined just before Turn 5, just as Max Verstappen was on what should have been his first qualifying simulation lap. The Red Bull driver ran a little wide after being left room by Hamilton when the rear stepped out on the power and sent him onto the run-off area – with the stewards due to investigate the incident after the session. Hamilton did not complete another quick lap on the softs and - although did use them again on heavier fuel later in the … [Read more...] about French GP: Bottas sets commanding pace in FP2
