The Geliose Hope retails at a starting price of Rs 46,999, ex-showroom (Delhi). The scooter is aimed at last-mile connectivity. According to the company, the Hope scooter features a running cost of around 20 Paisa/km. Additionally, with a limited top speed of 25kmph, the scooter does not require a driving license or registration for driving on the road. Speaking about the powertrain of the scooter, the Hope features a 250-watt hub-mounted electric motor mated to a portable Li-ion battery. The first Ather 450X electric scooter has been delivered to Dr Pawan Munjal (Chairman and CEO, Hero MotoCorp). The scooter was handed over to the Chairman by Mr Tarun Mehta, Co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy. The electric scooter handed over is of the 450X Series 1 collectors edition that sports a red & black paint scheme. Hero MotoCorp is one of the major investors for the electric scooter brand and currently owns 35 per cent of shareholdings in Ather Energy. The ride-hailing platform has partnered with Zypp Electric to provide EV service in the country. The new service aims to reduce its carbon footprint and encourage the use of environment-friendly vehicles. Rapido will be onboarding over 100 riders and electric two-wheelers from Zypp Electric as part of its Captain fleet. The electric two-wheeler taxi service will initially be a pilot run for three months starting from March 2021. The company will launch the service initially in the Delhi-NCR area and evaluate the response before expanding it to other cities in the country. The upcoming electric scooter was spotted testing on a race track. The EV maker has also decided on a manufacturing facility in Bangalore located in Whitefield. The facility will start to function with a maximum production capacity of 50,000 units annually. The state-of-the-art facility will also be used to produce further products in the brand's pipeline.
