Netflix’s highly-anticipated Formula 1 series is now available to watch on Netflix, and is already receiving rave reviews, with F1 fans binge watching, in true Netflix style! Formula 1: Drive to Survive is a gripping, high-octane 10 part series which is the first to give exclusive and intimate access to the greatest racing competition in the world. Somewhat surprisingly, both Ferrari and Mercedes chose not to take part in the series, both citing the fact that they were concentrating on their efforts to win the world championship- although Ferrari did allow limited access after the Italian Grand Prix. This however, possibly even adds to the attraction – as we go inside some of the teams who do not usually receive quite as much media exposure. Haas, for example, is one such team, as we watch the ecstasy of the entire them when they are running fourth and fifth in Australia, turn to heart breaking despair as two botched pit stops ruin their race. The subsequent phone call … [Read more...] about Steiner Stars as Formula 1: Drive To Survive is a Huge Netflix Hit!

The next time that you're watching a Formula 1 race, make sure that you don't miss the Safety Car that's being deployed on track when one of those many crashes occurs. The car is capable of hitting a top speed of 318 kmph too, which also makes it the fastest FIA F1 Safety Car of all time. It’s finally official – 2017 will be the final year of the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix, and no further F1 races will be held from 2018 onwards. This was confirmed by prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as well as a statement posted on the race series’ official website. The premier announced that the Cabinet has agreed to end the F1-hosting contract citing poor returns for the country relative to the cost of organising the event. “In the early stages of its organisation here, the F1 races helped to promote the country as a world-class sporting destination, as well as promoting Malaysia as a global tourist destination,” Najib said. “However, it is time that the government review the organisation of the F1 races by taking into account the changes which have taken place since we began organising it in 1999. This decision was made after taking into account reports and views from Sepang International Circuit (SIC) on the financial impact to all … [Read more...] about Malaysia to stop hosting Formula 1 from 2018
A plastic bag has been identified as the reason behind Sergey Sirotkin's short-lived Formula 1 debut. The Williams driver became the first to retire from a race this season when he brought the car to a stop down the escape road at Turn 13. Sirotkin was running toward the very back of the pack when his race came to an abrupt end and chief technical officer Paddy Lowe explained how a freak incident had the Russian back in the garage very early on. "Our provisional analysis is that a plastic bag has been collected on the circuit, completely blocking the brake cooling, so that the right rear corner caught fire and eventually failed the hydraulics circuit," Lowe said. "His brake pedal went to the floor and he had to go down the escape lane. "That was the end of his race which is very unfortunate because it was his first F1 race and what he really needed to do was get some distance behind him so he could come back for the second event with race experience our objective, which we didn’t … [Read more...] about Plastic bag ruins Sirotkin’s Formula 1 debut
