The Silverado-based truck rips to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds anywhere it damn well pleases. Here's something we weren't expecting at all, yet in some ways we aren't totally surprised. This apocalypse-busting Chevrolet Silverado called Goliath is the latest creation from Hennessey Performance, and frankly it makes us wonder what might be in the water down in Texas. Not because it's a Silverado Trail Boss with a big lift and an extra drive axle in back, or rather, not just because of that. It also gets the typical Hennessey treatment under the hood, which means a substantial power boost over the normal Chevy truck on which it's based. Translation? This thing isn't just scary looking – it's also scary fast. It would probably be the most insane supercar you could drive on the road. Pending you have the cash, the most hardcore Ferrari you can buy is the LaFerrari-based FXX-K Evo. Prior to that it was the equally bonkers FXX-K. Problem is, though, that neither cars are legal on the road. While other track-only offerings like the McLaren P1 GTR and the Aston Martin Vulcan have undergone dramatic reconstructions for use on the road, we’ve yet to see a Ferrari FXX-K or Evo with the same street-legal treatment. Thankfully, one designer has imagined the street-legal FXX-K Evo of out dreams. It comes with nearly all of the same dramatic styling elements you’d find on the track-only version, but with a few minor modifications – particularly to the front fascia – the Ferrari is suitable for road use. The rendering shows the same dramatic fenders with aerodynamic treatments, massive split grille, and … [Read more...] about What If Ferrari Built A Street-Legal FXX K Evo?
We sense strong GLK vibes here. Following a few teasers, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Concept GLB at the 2019 Auto Shanghai, which previews a future production model with the same name and showcases “what SUV ideas on the company's compact car platform might be realized alongside the GLA as a sporty all-rounder.” If we had to describe the study in just a few words, it’s a more rugged take on the small crossover idea that gives us strong GLK (GLC predecessor) vibes with its robust appearance. Because at 664 pound-feet (900 Newton-meters), the standard model is obviously underpowered. The latest-generation Touareg marks the end of an era as it’s the last model from the core Volkswagen brand to be offered with a V8 TDI engine. Introduced back in March as a cheaper alternative to the Audi SQ7 and the Bentley Bentayga Diesel, the flagship SUV from Wolfsburg packs the same 4.0-liter unit making it the ideal towing vehicle thanks to its ample amount of torque 900 Newton-meters (664 pound-feet). If for whatever reason you think that’s still not enough, ABT will happily work on the diesel behemoth to extract a massive 970 Nm (715 lb-ft). The boost in torque comes along with a nice horsepower increase from the series 416 horsepower to 493 hp. While performance numbers have not been provided by the Kempten-based tuner, we’re sure the modded Touareg V8 Diesel needs fewer than the 4.9 seconds required by the standard SUV to complete the 0-62 mph … [Read more...] about VW Touareg V8 Diesel Tuned By ABT Has Mountain-Moving Torque
