Tempting or still too expensive? Volkswagen revealed the CC-replacing Arteon for the U.S. crowd back in February 2018 at the Chicago Auto Show with the intent to have the stylish car on sale by year’s end. However, things didn’t go as planned since Wolfsburg’s Audi A5 Sportback was delayed due to the switch from NEDC to WLTP in Europe, which caused a backlog in meeting the stricter emissions regulations. The U.S.-spec Arteon was put on the back burner, but now it has finally arrived stateside. Launching a new vehicle in the U.S. that’s not a crossover or an SUV is a bit of gamble nowadays, and VW is well aware the Arteon is facing a tough future. In an attempt to lure in more buyers, it looks like there’s a sweet $2,500 discount available as a dealer cash incentive. Bear in mind this doesn’t necessarily mean the attractive five-seater can be had with this price cut at any dealer across the U.S. As CarsDirect points out, … [Read more...] about 2019 VW Arteon Already Being Sold With $2,500 Discount

Leaked photos purport to show the next two additions to the Jeep range. Here’s another look at both the next-generation Jeep Wrangler and Jeep’s planned top-end model, which will likely be called the Grand Wagoneer. These blurry photos come courtesy of an attendee at a recent dealer event, who snapped the photos on a smartphone during a presentation. The slides appear to show the Jeep lineup from the Renegade through the Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Grand Wagoneer (the new Compass is, oddly, missing). It’s the first and last of those vehicles that grabs our attention most, as neither has yet been officially revealed. pictured here adheres pretty closely to what we’ve seen in existing spy photos. Overall, the rough-and-tumble SUV’s design will not change too much, with large, round headlights at either side of a tall seven-slot grille. This model, however, appears to have thin LED running light strips on its wide front … [Read more...] about 2018 Jeep Wrangler, 2019 Grand Wagoneer spotted in dealer presentation?
Downtown Los Angeles isn't the best place to run a red, especially when people with cameras are nearby. This time around, cameras weren’t the only thing to catch this Jeep Wrangler prototype on the streets of Los Angeles. Presumably spooked by an up-close camera and not keen on giving the photographer an extended at-rest opportunity to click off shots, the driver booted the heavily camouflaged Jeep through the red light. LA officers were not impressed, but the rumor is they only gave the driver a warning. Update: Next-Generation Jeep Wrangler Caught Completely Exposed In the meantime, a few up-close photos were nabbed but they don’t reveal too much we don’t already know, especially since a couple uncovered photos leaked last month. Jeep is obviously keeping the next-generation Wrangler close to its boxy roots, though things will be a bit less chunky and upright underneath all that camo. The hood certainly appears longer, and while we … [Read more...] about Camouflaged 2018 Jeep Wrangler Not Invisible To Traffic Lights
We’ve got even more to tell you – and show you – about the next-gen Wrangler. Update: As we get closer to the Wrangler’s debut, we’ve uncovered even more about it. Here’s everything we know so far about the next Jeep Wrangler. Think of an off-roading SUV, and the Jeep Wrangler is almost certainly the first thing that comes to mind. The current version of the Wrangler, known by the internal code JK, has been around for a decade. It’s still unfailingly popular, with U.S. sales regularly topping 19,000 units per month – roughly on par with models like the Ford Explorer and Chevy Malibu. That popularity is unlikely to wane anytime soon, as an all-new Wrangler, possibly called the “JL” generation, is in the works.Jeep released three photos of the 2018 Wrangler in early November. They give us a great look at the SUV's design ahead of its full reveal. What is it? As ever, the new Jeep Wrangler will be a … [Read more...] about 2018 Jeep Wrangler: Everything we know
