It's a sedan version of a Sportback version of a sedan. The first Audi for China developed through the SAIC joint venture is debuting this week at Auto Shanghai 2021. Complementing the Audi-FAW A6L sedan and regular A7, the A7L eschews the Sportback body style of its global cousin and opts instead for a traditional sedan with a proper trunk lid. With customers in the People's Republic having a soft spot for rear legroom, the newcomer has a significantly longer wheelbase than the original Sportback. The distance between the axles has grown by 98 millimeters (3.85 inches) to 3,026 mm (119.1 in) and the whole car now measures a stately 5,076 mm (199.8 in). The sleek liftback combines 470 horsepower with Quattro. The Audi A6 you and I know is slightly different than the version sold in China where it's locally produced and sold exclusively with a long wheelbase. Debuting at Auto Shanghai 2021 is another flavor of the A6 , one we were frankly not expecting. No, we're not talking about the fact it's electric. We're referring to its body style as the concept is not a sedan. Instead, it takes the shape of a sleeker Sportback in the same vein as the A5 and A7. Interesting naming aside, the A6 E-Tron is a gorgeous low-slung liftback with massive 22-inch wheels and a clean side profile helped by the mirror-replacing cameras and the absence of door handles. At 4.96 meters (195.2 inches) long, 1.96 meters (77.1 in) wide, and 1.44 meters (56.7 in) tall, the A6 E-Tron has about the same footprint as the A7 Sportback . Maserati hopped on the hybrid bandwagon in July 2020 with the mild-hybrid Ghibli and now it's giving the Levante the same 48-volt treatment. Coinciding with the SUV's electrical infusion is a new GT trim level and subtle revisions that debuted with the vehicle's 2021 model year. But first, here are the specs. At the heart of Maserati's electrified SUV is a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine with four cylinders and a mild-hybrid setup. As seen in the Ghibli , it produces 330 horsepower at 5,750 rpm, but the 450 Newton-meters (332 pound-feet) of torque kick in much sooner, at 2,250 rpm rather than 4,000 rpm as is the case with the sedan. It's widely believed this will be Europe's new Mondeo and North America's Fusion. Finally! After months of rumors and spy shots, the Ford Evos has arrived at Auto Shanghai. Much like the Citroën C5 X, it's a segment-blurring family car created as a mélange between a wagon and an SUV. It represents the Blue Oval's first product to be largely developed by a team in China where it will be initially available and produced by the Changan Ford joint venture. It's an attractive five-door machine with a front fascia reminiscent of another China-focused model, the recently launched Equator SUV . The light bar above the grille is gradually starting to become a design trend to create a visual connection between the LED daytime running lights. Pop-out door handles remind us of the Mustang Mach-E, and while Ford says the side profile is a coupe-SUV affair, it looks more like a high-riding wagon to us. New subcompact officially bows at the Toronto Auto Show this week. The Canadian International Auto Show has been around since the mid-70's, and while plenty of exciting vehicles have made their way through the Toronto expo over the years, it's never actually hosted a world premiere. That changes today with the global unveiling of the 2018 Hyundai Accent seen here. The fifth-generation Accent sedan, which Hyundai says will make its way to markets around the world beginning in the third quarter of 2017, is larger than its predecessor, accelerates quicker, and offers segment-first automatic emergency braking. In terms of size, the 2018 Accent is wider and longer than the 2017 sedan, with an increased wheelbase, though it sits 10 millimitres lower to the ground for better aerodynamics.
