Lane assist, radar-guided cruise control, that Sat Nav system and heated electrical wing mirrors. You also get a decent amount of conectivity for your smartphone, Android or Apple. The only thing that irritates is the lack of a wireless smartphone charger which costs a ridiculous £250. It should come as standard. Avoid paying the irritating rip-off prices VW charge and buy an external wireless charger for £10 and plug it into the USB port. Job done, money saved. For all its all-round capability, the VW Tiguan is not the first model that comes to mind when some off-roading needs to be done. That may be about to change, however, as VW is unveiling the Tiguan Offroad at the Moscow Auto Show today. The name is self-explanatory, and the good thing is the updates go beyond changing the car’s name. As the official photos reveal, the new version boasts off-road bumpers, with the result being an increased approach angle of 26 degrees. Other standard exterior features include a set of 17-inch Tulsa alloy wheels, an R-Line roof spoiler, black painted side mirrors, and LED rear taillights. The adaptive LED headlights are optional. There are four exterior colors to choose from, and the roof can be painted black should the customer want that. There’s also the option of 18-inch black Sebring alloys. Inside, the Tiguan Offroad offers materials more resistant to wear and tear, including a combination of fabric and synthetic fiber, rubber mats with … [Read more...] about New VW Tiguan Offroad Approaches Moscow Auto Show With 26-Degree Angle
The Volkswagen Tiguan is very popular. In fact, it’s so appreciated that the car firm came up with a slightly longer version that adds two more seats for a total of seven. It’s called the VW Tiguan Allspace and it’s 210mm (8.3in) longer than the regular model. Its wheelbase has also been increased by 110mm (4.3in), and with the third-row folded down, you get 700lt (24.7cu-ft) of cargo space. Users can also fold the second-row, and get a whopping 1,775lt (62.7cu-ft) to haul all sorts of stuff, but with all the seats up, the boot space drops to 115lt (4.1cu-ft). But that’s still pretty good compared to other similar models, as South Africa’s Cars point out in their review. But the latter might not exactly be the right choice for everyone, as even the company admits that the third-row is more suitable … [Read more...] about Is The VW Tiguan Allspace The 7-Seat Compact SUV To Go For?
Tweet TweetThe Germans at Volkswagen seem to be on a constant roll. Seriously they’re taking over the world, launching a new car every 5 minutes and they break every record in the book. The Volkwagen Tiguan is however nothing like what you’d call record braking and world taking over. On that last front, Volkswagen have done quite a job on the 2012 version of the Tiguan as it offers everything on that list in better quantities. What is interesting is in how Volkswagen plan to reveal the 2012 Tiguan at the Geneva Motor Show later this year and yet they showed it to us now with a few details on it. The Germans decided to go this route because the previous version of the Tiguan has been sold out. No more stocks, production is cooked and people are waiting to see what the next generation would offer and if it’s worth the wait. I reckon it does, I like the look of it and it will undoubtably be built properly, with excellent materials and a good choice of engines. While the regular Tiguan is a very strong competitor among non-premium compact SUVs, the Allspace version struggles a bit with being a 7-seater. At least that’s how Carwow feels, following their review of this 2018 VW Tiguan Allspace 2.0 TDI diesel. Right off the bat, the reviewer jumps in the back row and realizes that there’s less room than you get in the Skoda Kodiaq. And by less room, it means almost no room, as this reviewer’s head just about touches the roof and his feet spread awkwardly. In order for an adult to fit in the third row, the middle row would need to be pushed forward, which in turn means a tight squeeze for anyone sitting there. Of course, it’s not all bad with the Tiguan Allspace. The SUV does feature loads of storage space (even for third row passengers), reclining rear seats, solid visibility and good road manners. In fact, the Allspace is said to drive just like the normal Tiguan, which is obviously a compliment. The steering is sharp and … [Read more...] about VW Tiguan Allspace 7-Seater Review Raises Concerns About Practicality
