When it comes to high-end hypercars and super-fast supercars, a few companies should come to mind first: Bugatti, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Rimac, and Pagani, among others. These manufacturers have cemented themselves as the top dogs in the supercar and hypercar space, extending to their wealthiest clientele the fastest, rarest, prettiest – and in this case – most expensive cars on the planet. But in order to find out which of these unattainable-to-most vehicles is the priciest, we've scoured the invoice sheets and uncovered 40 cars all worth $1 million or more. The group includes hybrid Ferrari convertibles, an American speed king , a few electric Hypercars , and two a one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce cars built for royalty. We should note, though: The prices listed here are the price of the vehicles when new. So we’re not counting auction cars like the Ferrari 250 GTO, or overpriced secondhand sales. But don’t worry, there’s still hundreds of millions worth of cars here to whet … [Read more...] about 50 Most Expensive Cars In The World

Consumer Reports Lists Its Top 10 Least Satisfying Cars For 2022
Owning a car is a long-term commitment with years of payments. That's why it would be nice to know if you'll still like the vehicle after a few years. You can't ask your future self that question, but you can do the next best thing by enlisting the opinions of other people. That's where Consumer Reports' member auto surveys come in handy. Consumer Reports polls its members about their vehicles, specifically asking if they would buy the same car again. That information provides a telling data point about owner satisfaction and is used to compile an annual list of the 10 least satisfying cars. This year the results included some vehicles that scored well in road tests and reliability, as well as multiple vehicles from the same brands. Including the Infiniti QX50 , Nissan had three vehicles on the list. Only 40 percent of QX50 owners would buy the car again, along with 49 percent of Kicks owners and 51 percent of Altima owners. Consumer Reports recommended all three of these … [Read more...] about Consumer Reports Lists Its Top 10 Least Satisfying Cars For 2022
Audi Q8 Facelift Rendered With Refreshed Front Fascia
The Audi Q8 went on sale in 2018, which means it is now almost five years old. Audi knows the competition isn’t sleeping, though – Mercedes-Benz unveiled the GLE-Class Coupe facelift last week and BMW is planning to bring a refreshed X6 just later this year. The folks from Ingolstadt, meanwhile, are putting the finishing touches on the Q8 facelift, and we have a new rendering previewing the design changes on the large SUV. We’ve spied the refreshed Q8 on a number of occasions and from the spy photos, we know it is getting a slightly restyled front fascia. Most notably, there will be new slimmer headlights and a slightly bigger radiator grille with a different honeycomb pattern. Below that, the edges of the front bumper will likely get larger air intakes better fitting the more aggressive new look of the fascia. Suzuki Vitara Is Fast Around The Cones In The Moose Test
The Suzuki Vitara is one of the very few subcompact crossovers that are available with a hybrid engine and all-wheel drive. In 2020, the model received new mild hybrid tech, which replaced the previous pure gasoline mill for the European market. It isn’t a very quick vehicle, obviously, but you’ll be surprised by how good the electrified Vitara is in the corners. The folks over at km77.com recently moose-tested a new Vitara equipped with that engine. The 1.4-liter mild hybrid powertrain under the hood is good for 129 horsepower (95 kilowatts) and 173 pound-feet (235 Newton-meters) of torque. As a side note, the only other subcompact crossover with all-wheel drive and a hybrid engine in Europe is the Toyota Yaris Cross . There’s also the Suzuki S-Cross , but it is slightly bigger and more expensive than the Vitara. Gerhard Berger: Nyck de Vries almost ‘burned’ by missing out on F1 chance
Gerhard Berger “always believed” Nyck de Vries would have gone straight from winning the Formula 2 title onto the Formula 1 grid, conceding he would have “lost” that bet. This season De Vries will complete his fairytale arrival onto the Formula 1 grid, the Dutchman having taken the long way around. Winning the Formula 2 title in 2019, he headed to Formula E after failing to find a spot in motor racing’s premier league. But, having joined the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team, he kept one foot in the Formula 1 door as he also joined the roster of the Mercedes’ F1 reserve drivers. That meant the 2020/21 Formula E champion was already at Monza when Williams driver Alex Albon fell ill with appendicitis. Williams, powered by Mercedes, drafted in De Vries as the Thai driver’s replacement, the Dutchman scoring two points as he raced his way to ninth place. That put in the spotlight with the driver subsequently linked to several teams, including Williams. It was, however, Helmut … [Read more...] about Gerhard Berger: Nyck de Vries almost ‘burned’ by missing out on F1 chance
Barn Find Uncovers BMW 2000 CS, Citroen DS, Amid Dozens Of Forgotten Cars
Finding one forgotten car in a barn is special enough, but this collection in France numbers in the dozens, maybe even in the hundreds. Some of the vehicles are unrecognizable because all that's left is a frame and firewall. With some labor and a large enough bank account, someone might be able to get a few of these models back on the road. Some of the cars are inside several barns and outbuildings. Others are outside exposed to the elements. Brush, leaves, and vines are so deep on several of them that you can't see the vehicle, the general shape is the only proof that something is there. There's no theme to this collection. Being in France, there are quite a few cars from that country, but there are plenty from the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany, too. There are also several commercial vehicles, including a fire department truck and a Citroen with a crane on the back. We don't know the story behind this collection. Some of the cars are damaged, so this … [Read more...] about Barn Find Uncovers BMW 2000 CS, Citroen DS, Amid Dozens Of Forgotten Cars

Will Tonglet earn his second NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle title?
Listen to this article The kid who won a championship in his 2010 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series rookie season has now won five of the category’s eight 2017 races, earning his fifth victory of the year at the 30th annual Toyota Sonoma Nationals held this past weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Until this season, it was just LE, brother GT and father Gary Tonglet traveling from race to race by truck. “Last year we were working on the bike, driving to a lot of places… it was a lot of time involved,” Tonglet said. There was a lot of stress involved in making every race and earning his stripes as a firefighter, Tonglet’s weekday job. Toward the end of his 2016 championship season, Jerry Savoie of WAR realized the best way to amplify his NHRA program was to add another motorcycle. “My crew chief suggested it,” Savoie said of Timothy Kulungian, who makes the tuning decision for both motorcycles. “When you look at a lot of teams out here that are making eight runs in qualifying when we … [Read more...] about Will Tonglet earn his second NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle title?
Elite seeks rapid and radical performance boost
Listen to this article The team’s two-time and reigning Pro Stock champion Erica Enders-Stevens had far and away the car to beat for the past couple of seasons and that’s all changed this year. Elite switched from Chevrolet to Dodge cars and engines for the 2016 season. Then part-time teammate from 2015, five-time Pro Stock champion Jeg Coughlin Jr., came onboard full-time. And then the NHRA changed the rules… Instead of using the Mopar engine from 2015, Elite – along with every other team in the Pro Stock category – was forced to change from carbureted to fuel injected engines. This edict was handed down in late July of 2015, giving teams little more than six months to prepare. In addition, the teams went from having no set rpm limit to having to keep their engines at 10,500 rpm or lower. Lacking carburetors, the cars had a different look to them, losing the bulbous noses that were part and parcel of Pro Stock for so long. An amended wheelie-bar size was also … [Read more...] about Elite seeks rapid and radical performance boost
