President Donald Trump lamented the number of assaults on police officers at a ceremony honoring fallen officers on Capitol Hill."In 2016, an officer was assaulted in America on an average of every 10 minutes, can you believe that?" Trump said on Tuesday. "It's outrageous, and it’s unacceptable. We must end the attacks on our police, and we must end them right now. But factoring in the growing population of Americans and police shows the rate isn’t as constant as Trump made it sound. The FBI reported that 57,180 officers were victims of line-of-duty assaults in 2016.With 525,600 minutes in a year, that breaks down to an assault every 9.19 minutes. Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, is reportedly being examined by the FBI, in part because of his time as a New York City taxi business owner. Prior to working for Trump, Cohen hustled as a personal injury lawyer, filing suits “on behalf of people with little means who were seeking compensation for the injuries they suffered in car collisions,” Rolling Stone said. But there was a major issue with some of Cohen’s cases, the news outlet added: Some of the crashes at issue didn’t appear to be accidents at all. This week, the FBI raided the office of President Donald Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, reportedly seizing business records and emails.
