There's a massive loss through the drivetrain, but understandable in a truck. As it stands, the 2021 Ram TRX is the most powerful bone-stock truck coming from the factory without the need for electrification. The Hellcat-powered Ram 1500 makes use of its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 to churn out up to 702 horsepower (523 kilowatts) and 650 pound-feet (881 newton-meters). Those numbers are sent to all four wheels but, of course, there will be drivetrain loss, which could affect the numbers if measure at the wheels. Hennessey aims to discover the output at the wheels, as seen on its latest benchmarking video of the 2021 Ram TRX. Interestingly, the Texas-based tuner only measured the output at the rear wheels (not sure how on the TRX). Rosenqvist: O’Ward “one of the quickest” in the world
Speaking to media ahead of Arrow McLaren SP-Chevrolet’s 2021 livery reveal , each driver was full of praise for the other, and stated their goal was to ensure they pushed each other this year in order to earn the team race wins. However, Rosenqvist said that it’s too soon to assess how they’ll compare and contrast in terms of driving style. “It’s a bit early to judge because we’ve only been to Barber and Sebring [tests],” said the 28-year-old Swede who arrives at the team after spending his first two IndyCar seasons with Chip Ganassi Racing. “What I’ve been able to see is that Pato is very quick, one of the quickest young drivers out there at the moment – not only in the U.S. but in the world. That’s definitely going to push me and I hope I can push him as well. Patricio O'Ward, Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet Photo by: Arrow McLaren SP “Driving styles… I think we’re at the level now where I don’t think people have a really specific driving style. I think it’s more … [Read more...] about Rosenqvist: O’Ward “one of the quickest” in the world
Now You Can Talk To Your Hyundai – Via Amazon Alexa
Hyundai's Blue Link smartphone app has been added to Alexa's 'skills', allowing control of engine starting and EV charging. Not that long ago, the prospect of being able to talk to machines was pure science fiction. But these days, even a kettle can be controlled by voice commands via smartphone app. Cars were among the first every-day devices to come with voice activation for things like the phone and stereo. Then came app-based control systems that could start and unlock the car. Hyundai is combining the two principles to go another step further, adding its Blue Link app to the range of “skills” on Amazon Alexa. For the uninitiated, Alexa is a hub for “smart home” apps that is controlled by voice commands. Tell it turn on the lights in the bathroom, or set the thermostat to 80 degrees, and it will do so. We Badly Want This Porsche 935 Targa Road Car To Happen
It won't, but at least we can dream a bit. Late last month, Porsche took us by surprise by unveiling the stunning Porsche 935 limited to just 77 examples for the whole world. At €700,000 (approximately $814,000 at the current exchange rates) a pop in Europe, it’s not what you would call an affordable supercar, but who cares when it’s so amazing. Given its track-only nature, it’s safe to assume no further modifications will be released in the future. That’s sad, but designer Jan Peisert is here to help with a virtual Targa makeover. It will definitely remain just a drawing, but let’s dream about a modern-day, open-top Moby Dick at least for a couple of minutes.
