Breana Noble The Detroit News Published 10:58 PM EDT Sep 16, 2018 A Royal Oak resident craving some spicy buffalo wings can't go to MI Wings Co. because it doesn't have its own restaurant. Instead, customers order from Uber Eats, the app-based restaurant delivery business powered by ride-hailing company Uber. MI Wings Co. is one of three "virtual restaurants" that have operated from Milan Pizzeria's kitchen in downtown Royal Oak since July and can only be found on the Uber Eats app. Metro Detroit has 10 virtual restaurants. Now, sales at the pizzeria are up more than 35 percent. The restaurant is buying ingredients from its supplier five days a week instead of three and has hired two new staff members. Plus, it is exploring opening a fourth virtual restaurant for Italian food. "We're being able to turn our restaurant into a kitchen," said Rahim Ali, a partner of Milan's Pizzeria. "Instead of me opening a new restaurant, taking on the risk, I can make a burger or wings … [Read more...] about Grubhub, Uber Eats, Postmates boost sales in Detroit, bite into profits

With the increasing popularity of hybrid and electric cars, the number of cars that you can buy with two independent motors capable of turning some kind of energy into spinning tires has increased dramatically. Even so, all of these current multiple-powerplant vehicles owe thanks to the addition of electric motors. If you want to talk about cars with two internal combustion powerplants, there’s really only two that were built in any quantity. And you have a right to know what they are. Keep in mind I’m talking about cars built in some sort of quantity here. There’s been a number of amazing twin-engined one-off cars, like the bonkers Fittipaldi racing Beetle or the Twini Mini or that Corolla/MR2 monster that used to show up at LeMons races, but this is about the incredibly rare factory-built twin-engine cars. So, if we’re only considering cars built in some numbers by a factory, then that leaves us with just two options: the Tempo 1200G and the Citroën 2CV … [Read more...] about These Are The Only Two Factory-Built Twin-Engine Cars
Ducati Panigale. It is a name that carries a lot of weight. How much of it is down to the Italian ancestry and exoticism, and how much of it down to the superbike’s capability is debatable. Amongst Japanese, German and Italian rivals the 1299 has always been in the fight, if not the ultimate victor. More often than not, the Ducati’s nature required the rider to adapt to its foibles, rather than the other way around. Now, with the all-new Panigale V4, Ducati wanted to cement its claim to the podium and win a large chunk of the riders’ hearts. So, for the 2018 Panigale V4 heritage has been sacrificed at the altar of performance, as Ducati steps from its L-Twin engines to the first V-four. Does the Panigale V4 sparkle with the same gravity and intent? The Ducati Panigale V4 will come to India this June, and it will be offered in the standard version as well as the loaded V4 S version. We spent some time with the latter at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in … [Read more...] about Ducati Panigale V4 S: First Ride Review
► We've finished building our Seven!► Now to race it in the Caterham Academy► Join us on our rookie race adventure You’re not supposed to like Silverstone, just as you’re not supposed to like dark chocolate Bounty bars. But I adore the place, both in driving games and, it transpires, in real life. In qualifying for the last race of the season (where did that year go?) I bagged eighth on the grid, a PB.In the race I could see the lead pack for a good few laps but drove like a big girl’s blouse on the last lap to come home tenth. A low, leaden sky shrouds distant office blocks, and wintry rain threatens to escalate into snow. We’re standing outside a nondescript building in a nondescript industrial park in East London, looking at three Porsche Panamera Sport Turismos parked in a small compound. There’s military-spec fencing all around, and strategically placed cameras stare balefully back at us. Police motorcycle outriders are parked in formation at the end of the street.Read our reviews of the Panamera Sport Turismo HERE and the nearly $190,000 Turbo S E-Hybrid model HERE.The security is real—and for good reason.
