Under the new initiative, VW customers will have access to information, reduced cost of ownership and peace of mind. The brand has introduced several new features and slashed the prices of spares in the country to reduce the cost of ownership. The company has reduced the Volkswagen Genuine Spare Parts pricing by up to 11 per cent. Engine oil prices have gone down by nearly 32 per cent. Additionally, the company is also offering benefits of up to 24 per cent on Service Value Packages. The reductions are part of Volkswagen India's robust service strategy. Kobayashi, who shares the #7 car with Mike Conway and Jose Maria Lopez, set a time of 2m00.747s in the first qualifying session of the World Endurance Championship's new Hypercar era, half a second quicker than teammate Kazuki Nakajima in the #8 sister car. During a cold but dry qualifying session United Autosports' Filipe Albuquerque confirmed his rapid pace from testing by proving to be the class of the LMP2 field, claiming pole by six tenths in the #22 Oreca 07-Gibson and taking third overall. After a delayed run out, the third and last car in the Hypercar class, the grandfathered Alpine A480-Gibson LMP1 car, was fourth in the hands of Nicolas Lapierre, behind both Toyotas and the United LMP2. On a partially damp circuit following wet weather overnight, poleman Cook and fellow front-row man Hill threw everything into keeping at the head of the field over the opening couple of laps. Hill was outdragged away from the line by the West Surrey Racing-run BMW 330i M Sport of Colin Turkington, and the second BMW of Tom Oliphant also drew level with him into the first turn of Clervaux. But Hill threw it around the outside of Oliphant, and then Turkington into the follow Hawthorne bend, to re-establish himself in second place. Hill then drew abreast of the BTC Racing Honda of Cook across the start-finish line, but Cook kept ahead into Clervaux. Cook, carrying no success ballast, then began to eke out an advantage on Hill’s older-spec AmD-run MB Motorsport Honda, which was on 6kg of ballast.
