Seems like the 'Jeep' logo and the turn signals have been repositioned. The folks from JL Wrangler Forums have brought to our attention the attached image sent to them by a tipster saying the photo originates from a sheet metal fabricator. Looking at the seven-slot grille and comparing it with spy images and the latest speculative renders, it appears to be legit. There aren’t any cutouts for the turn signals, so it means these have been built into the front fenders. Also noticeable is the absence of the “Jeep” logo, thus suggesting it will sit on the bottom section of the hood. There is a difference between the purported genuine grille and the one illustrated in the renders, though. The new image reveals the Wrangler JL’s front grille will have rounded lower corners. As seen in the numerous spy shots we’ve posted, the grille is going to be a tad more curved than on the outgoing JK and it also might be slightly wider. Expect to see the … [Read more...] about 2018 Jeep Wrangler grille surfaces, but is it genuine?

From 2023. [UPDATE, November 16] VW has issued a press release (attached at the end), confirming the report: "Production of the Volkswagen Passat family will be moved to the ŠKODA plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic, and these models will be built there together with the ŠKODA Superb and Kodiaq from 2023. The ŠKODA Karoq and the SEAT Ateca, currently produced in Kvasiny, will be transferred to a new Group multi-brand plant. The Group is looking for a new location in Eastern Europe." As we’re sure you have heard by now, the EV invasion from Volkswagen is upon us. In order to prepare for an armada of zero-emissions vehicles, the folks from Wolfsburg need to reshuffle car production to free up capacity and optimize output as much as possible. This is expected to have an impact on conventional cars powered by combustion engines, with VW announcing just yesterday to turn the Emden and Hanover facilities into electric vehicle plants by 2022.According to … [Read more...] about Your Next Euro VW Passat Could Be Built By Skoda [UPDATE]
Once the dealer supply runs out, that will be it for Alfa's nimble runabout. Motor1.com's French edition confirmed with Alfa Romeo that the 4C has been canceled. Here's a translated version of the original story. The Alfa Romeo 4C is now over. Indeed, the manufacturer has officially stopped production of its small sports car marketed since 2013 in Coupé form, and 2015 as a Spider version. The Coupe exited the U.S. market in 2018, but with all production now canceled, the only new 4Cs left to potential buyers are what's left in dealer inventories, and in the French market that means roughly 20 models. As a reminder, the Alfa Romeo 4C is powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 240 horsepower. It is distinguished by its lightweight, mid-engine design that tips the scale at just 1,973 pounds (895 kilograms). We took the wheel a few months ago to enjoy, one last time, the unique sensations offered by the little Italian … [Read more...] about Alfa Romeo Kills Its Lightweight 4C Sports Car
Green inside and out, Pogea Racing's 4C is the antonym for subtle. After coming out with a shadowy Alfa Romeo 4C Nemesis a few months ago, Pogea Racing has decided to do things a bit differently for its next project. The mid-engined coupe pictured here goes by the name of “Centurion 007 – The Green Arrow” and belongs to someone who wanted to stand out more than anything else. All that we can say is - Mission accomplished. The very green 4C received a four-layer coat of paint in a shade inspired by the new Aston Martin Vantage, but with a pearlescent finish to turn the little coupe into a proper head-turner. Pogea Racing admits the car is a love/hate affair, saying it’s “either an eye-catcher or makes you wanna puke.” The tuner goes on to mention it “leave marks in your eyes and in your brains,” for better or worse. The 4C doesn't look likely to get a successor, but this would be a great way to keep the sports car on the road. According to Alfa Romeo's recently released five-year plan, the automaker has no plans of updating the 4C range in that time. However, Adler Group and Umberto Palermo's Up Design now imagine what an updated version of the sports car could look like. The attractive concept goes by the unwieldy moniker Alfa Romeo Mole Construction Artigianale 001. Take A Better Look: See The Wild Artigianale 001 Alfa Romeo 4C In The Real World The concept's design retains the existing hallmarks of the 4C's look but makes them more aggressive. The lower fascia now features diagonal LEDs at each corner, and the turn signals are next to them. Palermo accentuates the fenders by causing them to come to a sharp point, and the headlights now sit in flying buttresses. These elements combine to give the model a very angry looking face. At the rear, the … [Read more...] about Italian Coachbuilder Imagines What Next Alfa 4C Would Look Like
