After being unveiled earlier this week, the Lexus LC 500h is back to reveal all of its technical specifications along with fresh imagery and footage. The rumors were true as the hybrid version of the LC 500 does indeed come with a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine working together with an electric motor. Also part of the package is a lithium-ion battery pack and a four-speed automatic transmission which has a manual mode. The combustion engine develops 295 horsepower (220 kilowatts) at 6,600 rpm and 257 pound-feet (348 newton meters) at 4,900 rpm, while the e-motor has 60 hp (44.6 kilowatts). This gives the hybridized coupe a combined output of 354 hp (264 kilowatts) which will be enough for a sprint to 62 miles (100 kilometers) per hour in less than five seconds. This is all possible thanks to Lexus’ “Multi Stage Hybrid System” … [Read more...] about Lexus LC 500h detailed, packs 354 hp [video]

Arctic WRC: Tanak beats record-breaker Rovanpera
The final day consisted of two passes through the 22.47 km Aittajarvi stage and Toyota claimed a 1-2 on its morning run as Elfyn Evans claimed his second stage win of the event from Rovanpera, with the Hyundai of Thierry Neuville just 0.1s behind in third. The battle between Rovanpera and Neuville for second place on the rally would also determine the provisional championship lead. The points leader coming into the Lapland-based rally was defending title holder Sebastien Ogier, who had battled an unfavourable road position throughout the event, and restarted on Sunday after crashing out at the flying finish of Saturday’s final stage. The Frenchman’s only objective was to rescue some points from the Powerstage and he duly treated the world to a textbook performance on the ragged edge. Ogier’s time was almost 11 seconds faster than his morning run, but this provisional fastest time was something at which the rest of the field took aim. The first to challenge Ogier was … [Read more...] about Arctic WRC: Tanak beats record-breaker Rovanpera
How Mercedes created the fastest-ever Formula 1 car
Mercedes will unleash its new W12 on Tuesday, which will be a continuation of last year's title winning W11. Espargaro: Pressure “high” to learn Honda without Marquez
The six-time MotoGP podium finisher joins the factory Honda squad from KTM in 2021, but will have just five days to get to know the RC213V in March before the opening round in Qatar. Espargaro should have had two days on the Honda at a post-season test at Jerez last November to have his first experience of the bike, but this outing was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also lost a day from the six originally scheduled for the 2021 pre-season when the three-day Sepang outing was cancelled due to the virus. Marquez confirmed on Tuesday he will not take part in the Qatar test as he continues to recover from a third operation on a broken arm. Though Espargaro will have test rider Stefan Bradl and LCR duo Alex Marquez and Takaaki Nakagami on track with him, he admits he “needs” Marquez, as the only way for him to improve on the bike “is to learn from the best rider in the world”. “I’m going to arrive to Qatar a little bit earlier, three days before the test, … [Read more...] about Espargaro: Pressure “high” to learn Honda without Marquez
“Gutted” Slade reflects on rollercoaster return
The two-time race winner made a sensational return to Supercars at Mount Panorama, following a year on the sidelines after losing his Brad Jones Racing drive at the end of 2019. Driving for the brand new, single-car Blanchard Racing Team in a customer Tickford Mustang, Slade managed to out-perform 'factory' Tickford drivers James Courtney and Jack Le Brocq across Friday practice and qualifying on Saturday. He started the season-opener from second on the grid, and was just five laps from a fairytale top four finish when a gear selection issue led to a violent crash on the run to Forrest's Elbow . The impact was bad enough to force Slade out for the rest of the weekend, with BRT now preparing its spare chassis for Round 2 at Sandown later this month. Slade took to social media this morning to reflect on the rollercoaster weekend, admitting he's "gutted" but also recognising the positives that can be taken from the team's speedy debut. "Absolutely gutted to not … [Read more...] about “Gutted” Slade reflects on rollercoaster return
