At the Geneva Motor Show in 2018, SsangYong presented the conceptual crossover e-SIV to the public, which is intended to give an idea of how the first electro mobile of the brand will look like and the successor to Korando (Actyon). SsangYong e-SIV Concept got a rather catchy appearance. The front has a muscular bumper with pronounced side sections, and the squinting headlights are visually combined with a thin chrome strip. Side-by-side in the eye rush stylish punches on the sidewalls, as well as five-spoke discs. Strips of tail lights designers stretched the entire width of the stern. In the salon, the prototype has four separate seats, and the Koreans offer to operate the basic functions of the car from the touch interface of a multimedia system, which is equipped with a voice recognition function based on artificial intelligence. The conceptual all-in-one sports a built-in network connection, thanks to which the driver can change the climate and safety settings, and also … [Read more...] about SsangYong e-SIV Concept will turn into a serial Actyon
Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Concept Test Drive: 2018 Volkswagen Atlas V6 SEL The Atlas Cross Sport is essentially a shortened version of Volkswagen’s seven-passenger Atlas SUV, which went on sale last year as a 2018 model. Both vehicles are built on Volkswagen’s versatile MQB platform, but the Cross Sport is 7.5 inches shorter overall on the same 117.3-inch wheelbase as the Atlas. The Atlas Cross Sport Concept is clearly intended to be a sportier vehicle than the 7-passenger Atlas, as evidenced by its “coupe-like” profile with a sharply sloped rear hatch, aggressively styled front and rear fasciae, and beefy 22-inch aluminum wheels. The concept’s powertrain also backs up the high-performance looks—it uses the production Atlas’s 276-hp 3.6-liter V6, but pairs it with a plug-in hybrid system with an 18.0 kWh battery and dual electric motors, for a total output of 355 hp. VW says this powertrain has an all-electric driving range of 26 miles and … [Read more...] about 2018 New York Auto Show: Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Concept
Barely weeks after Lynk & Co unveiled its dramatic 02 sedan concept, the China-based firm under automaker Geely has now unveiled the 03 sedan concept, said to be a design prototype. Led by the 01 SUV, the 03 sedan follows suit, this time seen ahead of its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show. Here, similarities with the 01 SUV can be seen, in design elements for both its exterior and interior. Its headlamps are mounted high and its grille is slim in a fashion similar to the 01 SUV’s, while at the back the 03 sedan concept’s are similar to the 01 SUV’s in its distinct look. In contrast to the rather outlandish 02 concept, the 03 sedan concept is more restrained in appearance. Inside, the 03 sedan concept’s cabin features a centre console that is angled towards the driver, and appears to share an overall design language with the interior within the 01 SUV. The 03 sedan concept’s steering wheel appears identical to the 01 SUV’s, while the infotainment … [Read more...] about Lynk & Co 03 sedan concept to make Shanghai debut
In November last year, sketches of the Proton Savvy 18 concept were released by MIMOS as a suggestion of what a successor to the original might look like. At the time, only the vehicle’s exterior was shown, but we are now being treated to a glimpse of the vehicle’s interior. These new sketches continue to be the work of Saharudin Busri, the lead designer and an owner of the first-generation Savvy. Like the exterior, the interior is both a look to the future and the past, with suitable cues affirming the latter. A revamped dashboard is the first thing that catches your eye, one that sports circular and angular features. The air-con vents, instrument binnacle both conform to cylindrical shapes, while the frame for the large infotainment screen is more hexagonal in appearance. Elsewhere, a textured gear knob can be found on the centre console, which merges with the centre stack that has the engine starter button and a rotating dial control on it. The most established homage … [Read more...] about Proton Savvy 18 concept interior revealed by MIMOS
BMW’s upcoming all-electric SUV, the iX3, will reportedly make its debut in concept form at this year’s Beijing Motor Show. It was previously announced at the carmaker’s annual accounts press conference that the iX3 concept will be among a number of vehicles to debut this year. Others include the iNEXT and i4 (previewed by the i Vision Dynamics). Based on spyshots of the iX3, the model appears to be based on the current G01 X3, although it will likely get several visual changes to set it apart as an electric only vehicle. So far, there are no details about the electric powertrain used in the iX3, nor is there any word on range and performance. BMW is making a big push for electrified cars moving forward, and the iX3, iNEXT and i4 are just some of the models it has planned. “I have set clear goals for sustainable mobility: More than 140,000 electrified vehicles sold this year. A total of half a million electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids on the roads by the … [Read more...] about BMW iX3 Concept to debut at Beijing Motor Show?
