Tweet TweetUnlike Ford who barely released a concept car which is actually a minivan version of the small Fiesta hatchback, Peugeot just revealed a new 908 endurance racer. Called the 908 HYbrid4 the French company’s new Le Mans endurance racer is a true show stopper. You’d think that the Peugeot 908 diesel racer was fuel efficient enough for a performance oriented machine but you never know what the future holds. The environmentally friendlier Peugeot 908 hybrid is also packing quite the extra punch for the the performance addict. Using the Peugeot 908 racer’s 550 horsepower 3.7 liter V8 diesel engine the HYbrid4 gets an 80 horsepower boost from the electric motor this time. The power source of the electric motor is contained within a lithium-ion battery. The only difference is that in the case of the 2012 Peugeot 908 racer there’s no plug. All of the electricity used by this particular hybrid comes from a KERS system that really makes proper use of the braking … [Read more...] about Peugeot gets the Geneva Motor Show, reveals the 908 Hybrid racer

We already have an idea of what we should expect to see at the 2018 Paris Auto Show, scheduled for October 2-14, such as the new BMW Z4 and Audi’s zero-emission SUV. A new report, published by AutoBild, suggests that the third generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class will also debut in the same event. The vehicle shares its platform with the latest A-Class, along with most of its engine lineup and technologies. It will rival the likes of the BMW 2-Series Active and Sports Tourer as a more veersatile version of its hatchback sibling in an attempt to make it more attractive for consumers. The 2019 MB-Class will be joined by the A-Class Sedan, second-gen CLA and GLA, and a new GLB boxy-looking crossover. Peugeot is expected to replace the six-year old 208 with an entirely new generation, too. The B-segment hatchback will use the same platform as the 2017 Citroen C3 and will probably get the same powertrains. A zero-emission derivative of the supermini is expected to go on sale in the second … [Read more...] about New BMW 3-Series, Mercedes B-Class, Peugeot 208 And Others Might Show Up In Paris

It looks seriously trendy inside and out, like a concept that has been lifted straight from the designer’s sketch pad and straight into production unaltered. So, the new 3008 has got the look and it’s also managed to bag the European Car of The Year Award. Even before the award was handed out the 3008 had 100,000 registered pre-orders many of whom had never bought a Peugeot before. But we must look at the cold hard … [Read more...] about Peugeot 3008, GT Line, Review
The list below has been carefully selected to show you the most exciting rides that never hit the production line. These 5 ridiculous concept cars will make you wonder how many other cool exotic cars never made it to the streets. 5. Peugeot 20Cup Reading about the Peugeot 20Cup’s history is just about as amusing as looking at it. It’s a three-wheeled concept that mated the front of a Peugeot 207, including drivetrain, to the rear of a motorcycle; unfortunately as the 207 was FWD, that meant that the rear wheel—attached with a single-sided swingarm—wasn’t even driven. Boo. The concept was produced in a pair but an overzealous French journalist crashed one at Mortefontaine, a test track near Paris. Jean-Christophe Bolle-Reddat, the creator of the Peugeot 20Cup, even toyed with the idea of creating a race series especially for the little tadpole. Thankfully, that never fleshed out. 4. Ford GT90 Somewhere between the original Ford GT40 and more … [Read more...] about 5 Ridiculous Concept Cars That Never Made It
The compact SUV segment of our country’s car market has been largely dominated by the Hyundai Creta. With no real rivals to deal with (the once popular Renault Duster is a bit too dated now), the Creta has been enjoying a free run of sorts. However, things don’t look as easy for this hot-selling Hyundai in the near future. There are at least seven new SUVs that will have the Creta in the crosshairs. Let’s take a look at this upcoming Hyundai Creta rivals in this post – Kia SP Concept-based SUV Kia made a lot of noise at the Auto Expo 2018 with the unveiling of the SP Concept. This design study will give birth to a Hyundai Creta-rivalling compact SUV that will likely launch in a year’s time. The company has already said that the upcoming SP-based SUV would command a slight premium over the Creta. However, it will try to justify the higher price tag through offering more features and a higher performance. The upcoming SUV will be targeted at the younger lot. … [Read more...] about Upcoming Hyundai Creta rivals: Kia SP Concept-based SUV, Maruti Vitara, Tata H5X, Mahindra S201 and more!
GENEVA, Switzerland — When you consider all the spectacular new sports cars and supercars and daring concepts that make their debuts at the Geneva motor show every year, it’s easy to forget the output of one entire country, even though they come closest, after the Swiss cottage-shop brands, to being the local industry. I’m talking about the French brands, of course: Peugeot, Citroen, and Renault. Opel/Vauxhall, which PSA Peugeot-Citroen purchased from General Motors last year, was absent from the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. Meanwhile, both the Peugeot and Citroen stands emphasized new and updated models. Peugeot showcased its new 508 midsize sedan and its new MPV, which for lack of a better comparison, could be France’s Chrysler Pacifica, while Citroen showed off its face-lifted Cactus crossover/wagon and a new Berlingo MPV. Which will come to the U.S. when Peugeot-Citroen returns (with just one brand) in a few years? This year’s show … [Read more...] about Peugeot, Citroen, and Renault at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show
Here’s the new Peugeot 508 in full, now officially released after a low res set of images emerged online. It’s a fantastic looking big sedan, for this writer at least, and Peugeot is calling it “the radical saloon”. The French carmaker is aiming high with this one. “Following the success of our latest major launches and our SUV offensive with the 2008, 3008 and 5008, we needed a vision for the large Peugeot saloon that would continue to shake up the market with a vehicle that rivals the best. And in D-segment cars, we’re competing with the world’s greatest automakers. More than ever, the new 508 embodies the ambition we’ve been stating for several years already – to make Peugeot the top high-end generalist automotive brand,” declared CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato. The D-segment sedan isn’t a very hot one now, no thanks to everyone buying SUVs, and Peugeot acknowledges this. It was against this backdrop that the designers … [Read more...] about New Peugeot 508 officially revealed
Peugeot’s new 508 flagship saloon will get rear styling inspired by the Instinct concept of last year’s Geneva motor show.Leaked pictures, which first surfaced on Peugeot fan site Peugeot Héritage, show the rear of the car, with stylistic rear light bar taking direct inspiration from the Instinct concept. The car's official reveal will take place at the Geneva motor show next month, with UK sales scheduled for November. As previous spy shots confirmed, the car will retain its saloon body style, with a short boot lid with incorporated lip spoiler completing a swooping line from the top of the car’s roof. The car will gain Peugeot’s i-Cockpit system, with a digital dashboard replacing traditional dials and an 8in touchscreen infotainment system taking precedent on a de-cluttered dashboard. The headlights (pictured above) also appear to take a similar shape to those of the shooting brake concept, but it’s not yet known if the front of the … [Read more...] about 2018 Peugeot 508 leaks ahead of Geneva motor show debut
