(AFP Photo) SEOUL: President Joe Biden arrived in South Korea Friday, his first Asia trip as US leader, aiming to cement ties with regional security allies despite growing fears of a North Korean nuclear test. Tesla Building The World’s Largest Supercharger Station In The Mojave Desert
Tesla has started building a massive supercharger station between Los Angeles and Las Vegas in the Mojave desert which many believe could be the largest one in the world. Tesla has been actively increasing its supercharger station footprint. It has gone from 23,777 superchargers in 2,564 stations in 2020 to 31,498 superchargers in 3,476 stations worldwide by the end of 2021. That's a 35 per cent growth rate. But this growth rate is much needed as Tesla prepares to open up its supercharging network to third party vehicles as well. The one in the Mojave desert is said to have 100 stalls which is more than 10x of what EVgo and Electrify America have offered. This is the world's largest supercharger with 56 stalls "Mayor Paul Courtney revealed the world's most valuable carmaker is already months into construction of Superchargers - a charger Tesla produces for quicker fill-ups and longer-distance drives than those provided by smaller home-charging options - during a Barstow … [Read more...] about Tesla Building The World’s Largest Supercharger Station In The Mojave Desert
Avenatti, facing sentencing, apologizes to Stormy Daniels
This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 3 NEW YORK (AP) — Convicted California lawyer Michael Avenatti wants leniency at sentencing for defrauding former client Stormy Daniels of hundreds of thousands of dollars, his lawyers say, citing a letter in which he told Daniels: “I am truly sorry.” The emailed letter, dated May 13, was included in a submission his lawyers made late Thursday in Manhattan federal court in advance of a June 2 sentencing. Avenatti, 51, should face no more than three years in prison for his latest conviction, or 4 1/2 years in all, because two convictions have destroyed his life, the lawyers said. “This sobering reality is as sufficient and powerful a punishment and deterrence as any. Worse, Mr. Avenatti’s extreme rise and fall played out on the most public of platforms, an experience he is unlikely to ever recover from reputationally,” they said. Last year, Avenatti was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in … [Read more...] about Avenatti, facing sentencing, apologizes to Stormy Daniels

Florida appeals court reinstates DeSantis congressional map
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A new congressional map drawn by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' staff that could diminish the state's Black representation in Washington was reinstated by an appeals court Friday, a week after a lower court judge said the map was unconstitutional. The 1st District Court of appeals ruled Judge Layne Smith erred when he ordered a replacement map be used for the 2022 election. The latest order means the governor's map is reinstated pending the outcome of a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the map. While the appeals court didn't address the constitutionality of the map, it did cite “the need for certainty and continuity as election season approaches.” The ruling comes as the state gets closer to the June 13 to 17 qualifying period for federal office. The DeSantis map would likely boost the number of Florida seats held by Republicans, while also making it difficult for Democratic U.S. Rep. Al Lawson to maintain his seat in a north Florida … [Read more...] about Florida appeals court reinstates DeSantis congressional map

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — A domestic battery charge against a 23-year-old Florida rapper who goes by the name Rod Wave has has been dropped, according to court documents. According to an arrested warrant, Green's ex-girlfriend accused him of entering her central Florida home and choking her last month while their two children were in another room of the house.
