Tweet TweetA year after Fisker Automotive produced its last unit, there are signs that the company could be revitalized, thanks to a Chinese Auto Maker. BAIC – which, as you may already know is the Chinese Beijing Automotive Group, turned its eyes to the American units and they are apparently having big plans for Fisker Automotive. In an attempt of taking control over the Chinese electrical vehicles’ market, BAIC hopes to take the first place thanks to Fisker Automotive, among some other models. The information surfaced the media soon after BAIC officials went into a visit to Fisker Automotive headquarters, if we can still call them like that. While the Americans are interested in bringing Fisker back to life, for whatever reasons, it may not be that easy. At the end of last year, Fisker Automotive was said to discuss a potential alliance with three car markers. Nevertheless, none of them was finalized, and the company shut down production one month later. We still do not … [Read more...] about Fisker Automotive allegedly enter Chinese Auto Maker BAIC’s portfolio
Tweet TweetBragging about sales isn’t really available for Buick at this moment, especially since they aren’t really winners on the subject. Even so, they can still manage a little bit of a sales success on a different plane, so why not announce that particular plane. The thing is, once you get past the shock, you will have to fully comprehend the announcement and get past the headline, with fine print sort of popping into your head. 3 million Buick units sold in China sounds and is pretty successful but once you find out exactly the period over which the Americans managed to shift these cars it sort of looses the glamor. Buick as a brand, entered the Chinese market all the way back in 1999 and all the sales were managed because the company has 400 dealerships in the People’s Republic. Even once you go past the 12 years of existence in the country, the most recent of sales figures have been coming in for Buick in China over the past few months, especially since the … [Read more...] about Buick’s Chinese sales reach 3 million

Premiering alongside the latest-generation Touareg and a second China-only SUV, dubbed the ‘Powerful Family SUV’, the mid-size model was developed by the local FAW-VW joint venture. Discussing the vehicle with Auto Express, VW boss for technical development Dr. Frank Welsch said the brand is researching other markets where the vehicle could be introduced. “Today it’s purely for China, but I totally agree that it’s a very strong SUV and we are evaluating chances to maybe bring this to other countries as well. The design is great and so is the technology,” he commented. Scuderia Ferrari will be more than happy with winning the 2018 Australian Grand Prix, as Sebastian Vettel finished on top of the podium in Melbourne and is currently leading the Formula 1 Driver Standings, while Kimi Raikkonen’s third place helped the Maranello team complete a strong start of the season. However, Scuderia Ferrari is well aware of the fact that comparing the overall pace and performance, Mercedes seemed to have the stronger package in Melbourne (Lewis Hamilton would have most likely won without the presence of the Virtual Safety car) and as a result, the Italian side is already taking into consideration different solutions for the development stages. As reported earlier today by Motorsport Italy, Scuderia Ferrari is working to improve the SF71-H’s floor, as German driver Sebastian Vettel complained in Melbourne that the car slipped too much and did not handle the corners as well as he would have wanted. Sebastian was unhappy with the way the car responded so … [Read more...] about Ferrari’s first major update for the SF71H to be ready for the Chinese Grand Prix
