Here's a nightmare scenario for anyone who drives a low-riding sports car. Before diving into the story, the good (and surprising) news here is that nobody was injured. As for the bad news, the pictures should make that quite obvious. This unwelcome Chevrolet meetup took place on September 18 in Thornton, Colorado, a suburb of Denver to the north. Specifically, the crash happened at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and 168th Avenue, also known as Country Road 2. Crews from three municipalities responded, with the Thornton Fire Department sharing these spooky images of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck perched squarely atop a C8 Corvette . Goodyear's family of Wrangler all-terrain tires has a new addition, and if the appearance is any indication, it's not taking any prisoners. This is the new Wrangler Boulder MT, featuring an aggressive tread pattern and three-ply Duraply Technology to help protect the sidewalls whether traversing rocky terrain or muddy trails. What is Duraply Technology? Goodyear doesn't offer details other than to say it adds protection to both the sidewalls and the tread. Speaking of which, the tread utilizes large blocks with wide, deep grooves to help in conditions such as mud and sand. This also helps prevent stones from getting wedged into the tread pattern. Goodyear says its new mud terrain tire is aimed at off-road adventurers looking to tackle extreme terrain, and it certainly looks the part. The "problem" with performance cars is that a new version is always seemingly around the corner. Consequently, it's almost never the right time to buy one, but that's not stopping people from getting behind the wheel of the latest version. Following the release of the Z06 and E-Ray, Chevrolet is preparing to launch another derivative of its mid-engined Corvette supercar. A new spy video shows a prototype of what is believed to be the ZR1. Taken at a gas station somewhere in Colorado, the vertically shot walkaround video shows the test vehicle hiding under heavy camouflage. The soundtrack with the engine idling strongly suggests we're dealing with the 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 engine from the Z06. Kevin Hart will showcase nearly a dozen of his custom-built cars at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. This is the first time Hart will display all 11 vehicles in one location for public viewing. It has taken Hart over a decade to build his “Kollection.” Each was built to his specifications, with many tailored to a certain theme. Finding several takes it to a whole new level, and when those classics are Corvettes, it borders on epic . Yes, that's an overused word in the car community, but how else would you describe a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 still wearing delivery plastic with 25 miles on the odometer? Toyota made an entrance at the State Fair of Texas by revealing the 2024 Tundra 1794 Limited Edition. Based on the 1794 Edition Tundra, which puts an emphasis on a premium leather interior and enhanced off-road capabilities, the Limited Edition goes even further, offering exclusivity and some unique accessories. The 1794 Edition Toyota Tundra is named as a tribute to Texas' oldest ranch, founded in 1794 near modern day San Antonio. Toyota purchased a large portion of the ranch for its San Antonio plant which builds the Tundra in addition to the Toyota Sequoia . A new video from Hennessey Performance showcases its new HPE1000 upgrade for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The super sedan demonstrates its performance prowess against a stock Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in a series of drag races. The Corvette Z06 is no slouch with its naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 engine. The powertrain produces 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, propelling the mid-engine supercar to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds. Those are impressive numbers, but they are diminished by Hennessey’s H1000 upgrade package to the Cadillac . For a company that’s been building hybrid cars since the late 1990s, Honda has been a bit slow to adopt full electrification in its march toward environmentally conscious automobiles. But the automaker’s first serious effort at an EV will arrive next year in the form of the 2024 Honda Prologue, a Passport-sized crossover with a targeted range of 300 miles. As has been reported before, the Honda shares an Ultium platform and battery with electric GMs like the Chevrolet Blazer EV , but the automaker is confident that its unique suspension tuning , styling, and cabin will be enough to ensure repeat customers will be comfortable. At this year’s Rennsport Reunion 7, Hot Wheels, in collaboration with Porsche and Mobil 1, unveiled the Dirtmeister to celebrate the automaker’s 75th anniversary. It’s a modified 1987 Porsche 944 that looks ready to complete a rally stage or two. The toy maker will offer the wicked build as a die-cast car on a made-to-order basis. The full-size Porsche features a custom roll cage from Jimco Racing, one of the many modifications made to the vehicle. The most noticeable is the shooting brake upgrade from Kudensport, giving the vehicle a wagon-like appearance with just two doors.
