Here's a nightmare scenario for anyone who drives a low-riding sports car. Before diving into the story, the good (and surprising) news here is that nobody was injured. As for the bad news, the pictures should make that quite obvious. This unwelcome Chevrolet meetup took place on September 18 in Thornton, Colorado, a suburb of Denver to the north. Specifically, the crash happened at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and 168th Avenue, also known as Country Road 2. Crews from three municipalities responded, with the Thornton Fire Department sharing these spooky images of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck perched squarely atop a C8 Corvette . Goodyear's family of Wrangler all-terrain tires has a new addition, and if the appearance is any indication, it's not taking any prisoners. This is the new Wrangler Boulder MT, featuring an aggressive tread pattern and three-ply Duraply Technology to help protect the sidewalls whether traversing rocky terrain or muddy trails. What is Duraply Technology? Goodyear doesn't offer details other than to say it adds protection to both the sidewalls and the tread. Speaking of which, the tread utilizes large blocks with wide, deep grooves to help in conditions such as mud and sand. This also helps prevent stones from getting wedged into the tread pattern. Goodyear says its new mud terrain tire is aimed at off-road adventurers looking to tackle extreme terrain, and it certainly looks the part. A new video from Hennessey Performance showcases its new HPE1000 upgrade for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The super sedan demonstrates its performance prowess against a stock Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in a series of drag races. The Corvette Z06 is no slouch with its naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 engine. The powertrain produces 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, propelling the mid-engine supercar to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds. Those are impressive numbers, but they are diminished by Hennessey’s H1000 upgrade package to the Cadillac . Kevin Hart will showcase nearly a dozen of his custom-built cars at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. This is the first time Hart will display all 11 vehicles in one location for public viewing. It has taken Hart over a decade to build his “Kollection.” Each was built to his specifications, with many tailored to a certain theme. Toyota is sprucing up the GR86 for the 2024MY in Japan where the rear-wheel-drive sports coupe is getting a special edition to mark four decades since the original AE86. Available with a manual or an automatic transmission, the retro-flavored variant is limited to 200 units and gets an assortment of tweaks inside and out. It's based on the locally offered RZ trim and can be had in either white or red with black stripes sending an Initial D vibe. The special variant gets 18-inch wheels with a dark gray metallic finish and wrapped in 215/40 R18 tires. In addition, Toyota gives the side mirror caps and prominent trunk lid spoiler a black finish to contrast the body paint. New cars are always exciting. They usher in new technologies, improved powertrains, increased safety, fresh designs, and more to entice shoppers. Automakers sell millions a year in the US, but most Americans buy used, and that endeavor has gotten significantly more expensive over the last few years. A new iSeeCars study found that buyers of used cars are spending 33 percent more today than in 2019. The vehicles they buy are also older, increasing from 4.8 years old to 6.1. The report says that in 2019, $23,000 would buy a three-year-old used car. Today, $23,000 wouldn’t even buy a six-year-old model. One would need $24,210 to complete the save transaction.
