The i20 supermini gets a crossover makeover with eccentric styling. While we're patiently waiting for Hyundai to dip its toes into the pickup truck and performance segments with the Santa Cruz and that mid-engined sports car , the Asian brand is rolling out yet another crossover. Contrary to reports, the new Bayon is not actually significantly smaller than the Kona as the two have similar footprints. At 4.18 meters (164.5 inches) long, 1.77 meters (69.7 inches) wide, and 1.49 meters (58.6 inches) tall, the subcompact crossover is only a bit shorter than the facelifted Kona (4.21 meters / 165.9 inches) while being a little bit narrower and with a lower roofline. The wheelbase measures 2.58 meters (101.5 inches), a tad shorter than the Kona's, while the cargo capacity stands at 411 liters (14.5 cubic feet) or 1,205 liters (42.5 cubic feet) once you fold the rear seats. The load volume trumps the Kona with or without the bench down. Length Width Height … [Read more...] about 2021 Hyundai Bayon Revealed With Quirky Styling And Spacious Interior

Supercars trials new ‘start your engines’ procedure
The tweak to the pre-race routine saw race director Tim Schenken deliver a 'start your engines' directive on the open teams radio channel before the commencement of the warm-up lap. That message was broadcast live on TV before a near-simultaneous fire-up of the 24 cars sitting on the grid. According to Supercars TV boss Nathan Prendergast, the idea came from discussions with returning free-to-air broadcaster the Seven Network about better capturing "unique" elements of the sport. But it won't become a regular feature of race weekend, instead something that will be used sparingly as part of the broadcast package. "It was born from a discussion with Seven from them looking at moments in our sport that are unique," Prendergast told Motorsport.com. "We're just trying to take an internal look at the sport and see if there are cool moments that we just dismiss because we're all very familiar to it. Start your engines is very old school, but there's something about that … [Read more...] about Supercars trials new ‘start your engines’ procedure

Infiniti Prototype 10 Is A Sexy Speedster Connecting Past To Future
Its modular design can use a variety of electric powertrains, but we just want to stare at it. Last year Infiniti had us quite smitten with its exquisite Prototype 9 Concept – a what-if take on a 1930s race car that was stunning in virtually every detail. This year our attention falls to its successor, which follows the retro theme by taking cues from classic speedsters. It’s called the Prototype 10, but whereas its predecessor suggested an alternate past, this new concept proposes a look to the future. No, that doesn’t mean next-generation Infinitis will be roofless, single-seat runabouts, though it is quite a looker with its suave silver shape. It does, however, incorporate design cues we saw on another more down-to-earth Infiniti concept – the Q Inspiration revealed in January at the North American International Auto Show. Observe the thin headlights, the square-ish chin up front, the sculpted sides; if you were to put a roof and full greenhouse on this car it might … [Read more...] about Infiniti Prototype 10 Is A Sexy Speedster Connecting Past To Future
