"The area has a high volume of both foot and car traffic daily, so any negative activity could impact more individuals,” Helen Kippen, interim executive director … [Read more...] about Project Green Light coming next to Detroit public housing
Car will not start but lights come on
DESPITE it potentially causing damage to the engine, some motorists choose to carry on driving for a while after the low fuel warning light comes on. Although you can travel around 50 miles further in a Ford, running on fumes could cost you a lot more than a tank of fuel. Causing an obstruction with a car that's out of fuel is punishable by three to nine points and an unlimited fine, under the careless and inconsiderate driving penalty. You may also have to pay for the cost of having your vehicle recovered from the roadside. Further to that, there are a number of variables that have to be accounted for when considering the mileage left on a near-empty tank. For example, Volkswagen cars will indicate low fuel when around a gallon – or 4.5 litres – of fuel is left – this differs per manufacturer. Traffic is … [Read more...] about How far can I drive when my petrol warning light comes on in my car?

Other blogs Figuring that young domestic automakers can never beat global giants with traditional gasoline-engine technology, Beijing has bet on electric vehicles, which it believes provide domestic companies an opportunity to leapfrog rivals. Will the government’s wishes come true? Probably not. The future landscape of China’s EV market will more likely than not mirror the current vehicle market, with global brands dominating the upper and high end while domestic brands concentrate on the low end. It is true that domestic Chinese automakers have maintained robust EV sales growth. In the first seven months of the year, some 382,000 EVs were delivered in China, a surge of 82 percent from the same period last year. And nearly all of the volume was generated by local marques -- with BAIC, BYD, JAC, JMC, … [Read more...] about Why domestic automakers will not dominate China’s luxury EV market

Henry Payne The Detroit News Published 5:40 p.m. UTC Jun 5, 2018 Pace driver and General Motors executive Mark Reuss wasn’t the only driver to spin in Belle Isle’s tricky Turn 2 on Sunday. IndyCar’s Santino Ferrucci came out of the pits too hot later in the race and spun, damaging his open-wheel race car's front wing. But Reuss' Corvette ZR1 pace car’s crash is Exhibit A as to why Chevrolet is developing an all-wheel drive, mid-engine Corvette. More: Mark Reuss says no excuses for pace car crash While putting 755 horsepower to the rear wheels, GM''s product boss spun the most powerful front-engine 'Vette ever into the retaining wall, scattering debris across the track and delaying the start by a half-hour.
