Ceat Tyres has tied up with Elys Intelligent Devices and launched Raksha Safe Drive, a car safety device. After being installed, the device works by sensing any impact on your car and immediately informing you pre-defined emergency contacts that you have met with an accident. The device also gives your contacts your live location. Raksha Safe Drive also features one-touch calling for emergency services including police and medical assistance. The device has been launched to help with immediate emergency assistance, within the first hour of the accident. The company has also launched a digital campaign to create awareness about the same. The proposals, if approved, are part of a move to cut road deaths and serious injuries in half, according to the EU institution. The 11 systems are: • Advanced emergency braking – a system to automatically bring the car to a halt if it detects a crash is about to occur New vans and light commercial vehicles will be subject to these regulations other than advanced emergency braking.
