Petition For Bringing BMW M3 Touring Wagon To US Is Gaining Steam
It won't enter production until 2022, so BMW has time to consider the request. BMW never sold an M3 wagon in the United States. That's okay, because BMW never sold an M3 wagon anywhere . Such a creation never emerged from the depths of Munich, but it soon will. BMW announced plans for its first M3 Touring in August 2020, and we've since learned the high-performance long roof won't be sold in the States. At least 4,358 people aren't happy about that, and they're making their displeasure known. That's how many people signed a petition at Change.org in favor of selling the M3 Touring stateside, as of this article posting on March 4, 2021. Kian Alam started the petition not long after the news became official, and it's slowly gained support over the last few months. ‘Superbly Maintained’ McLaren F1 Is One Of Just Seven Sold New In US
It's currently up for grabs. The McLaren F1 is one of those historically important cars that will remain forever significant. Developed to redefine what a supercar is, the vehicle remains highly acclaimed for its performance even today. Given that, it’s a little miracle when a well-maintained example shows up for sale. This red F1 from the 1995 model year is even better as the seller says it has been “superbly maintained” during its entire life. It is said to be one of just seven sold brand new in the United States, out of a 106-unit production run. Auer set to return to Mercedes fold in the DTM
Auer was a part of Mercedes’ works DTM programme from 2015-18, scoring four victories during that period and earning a best finish of sixth in the drivers’ championship. But the Stuttgart-based marque’s exit from the series prompted Auer to look elsewhere, with the Austrian going on to compete in Super Formula with Red Bull in 2019 before returning to the DTM with BMW in what turned out to be the final season of the Class One era in 2020. At the start of last month, Auer and BMW announced that they had mutually agreed to part ways, citing their inability to put together a programme for the 2021 season. Motorsport.com understands that Auer is now headed back to Mercedes, which could place him in the DTM with one of its factory-supported teams. In 1996, Alex Zanardi capped an amazing rookie season of CART Indy car racing at Chip Ganassi Racing with a divebomb last-lap pass on Bryan Herta’s Team Rahal car at the top of the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca, the season finale. Zanardi, outbraked Herta on the left but also outbraked himself and went well into the runoff area, rejoining the track on the switchback to the right, and directly in front of Herta, going on to score his third win of the season and capturing third in the championship. Even now the move’s legitimacy is debated, even by those who showered Zanardi with praise for even attempting the maneuver.
