Recently I was in Bangkok, Thailand and had the opportunity to enjoy the Mandarin Oriental Five BMW 7 Series Limousine Service to and from the airport. For the past 15 years, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok has been using BMWs to shuttle hotel VIP guests and in 2016 upgraded their BMW fleet to the all-new 7 Series. A gentlemen dressed in a crisp Mandarin Oriental Uniform met us holding the Mandarin Oriental fan symbol just as we were exiting baggage claim at the Bangkok Airport. He loaded our luggage on a cart, spoke quietly into a radio and escorted us to the curb where our gorgeous BMW 7 Series pulled up. Our 7 Series Limo driver was dressed in bright dress white uniform replete with cap. As we pulled away from the airport, we were offered cool refreshing towels for our hands, bottled water and our very own WiFi service. The hotspot name was MO Limousine 26 and being BMW’s LTE connection, was remarkably fast. Though the cabin of the 730Ld was a perfectly comfortable temp, I … [Read more...] about Mandarin Oriental Bangkok offers a BMW 7 Series limousine service
Bmw 7 2016
The current BMW 7-Series is one of the most dynamic and technologically advanced offerings in its class, but its predictable styling and drab interior leave a lot to be desired. This is a 6-figure car once you add a few options, yet to the average onlooker it’s hard to distinguish from the lesser 5-Series. This is reflected in the sales. In 2017, the 7-Series racked up 9,276 sales in the United States, down almost 30 percent on the 12,918 sales it achieved in 2016, the current model's first year on the market. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz’s S-Class (including 2-door variants) managed close to 16,000 sales while the Tesla Model S managed close to 26,500 sales. The good news is that BMW will introduce substantial changes for the 7-Series’ mid-cycle update. A recently sighted prototype sported significantly more camouflage gear than you normally see for a mid-cycle update. It looks like BMW will introduce a new face for the car with new head and taillights, a new … [Read more...] about 2020 BMW 7-Series spy shots
The new BMW 7 Series has been officially launched in Malaysia. Munich’s limo and flagship saloon, now in its sixth generation (check out this nice through the generations video), will provide competition to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8, Jaguar XJ and Lexus LS. The G11 (we only get the long-wheelbase variant, so it’s G12 technically) is available here in 730Li and 740Li forms. The long-wheelbase 7 Series has a larger footrpint than before, at 5,238 mm long (+19 mm), 1,902 mm wide (unchanged) and 1,479 mm tall, with a 3,210 mm wheelbase (also unchanged). To compare, the LWB W222 S-Class is 5,246 mm long and 1,899 mm wide, with a 3,165 mm wheelbase. So, the BMW is 8 mm shorter overall, but has a 45 mm longer wheelbase than the Merc. While it might not look worlds apart from its predecessor, the new 7 Series is all-new and high-tech underneath. BMW’s Carbon Core construction – with tech gleaned from BMW i car development – utilises a combination of … [Read more...] about G11 BMW 7 Series launched in M’sia
Tweet TweetBMW 7-Series` top of the line M760i was officially unveiled during the 2016 Los Angeles Auto, the luxury saloon almost instantly winning the hearts of those BMW passionate in search for thrill and high-end taste. However, journalists around the world have asked themselves if the model is worth the $180K price tag – I mean, it is twice as expensive as the entry-level 740i and around $17,000 more than Alpina`s latest B7 Bi-Turbo. In the video presentation below, automotive news and car reviewer Doug DeMuro is trying to put the pieces together and explain if the car is worth the aforementioned price, providing facts and details about the car`s powertrain and so forth. Usually, the value of a car is mostly given by the type of engine it comes with under the hood. And by comparison, the 760i`s massive and powerful 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 is no match for the 740i entry-level which uses a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo. So, it is like putting together 600 horsepower versus 320 … [Read more...] about BMW M760i – Is It Worth the $180K Price Tag?
BMW Malaysia has launched the BMW 7 Series plug-in hybrid in the country. The PHEV variant of the sixth-gen luxury sedan arrives here in its 740Le xDrive range-topping guise, and is eventually set to be the only G12 on sale locally, taking over from the 730Li and 740Li petrol models that were launched last year. No difference in overall dimensions, the hybrid measuring in at 5,238 mm long, 1,902 mm wide and 1,479 mm tall, with a 3,210 mm-long wheelbase, which is exactly the same as the petrol Li variants. Figurative differences are with kerb weight and boot volume – the 740Le xDrive tips the scales at 2,015 kg, which is 170 kg more than the 740Li (1,845 kg), and because of the need to accomodate the battery in the scheme of things, boot capacity is 420 litres, a reduction of 95 litres from the 515 litres available on the 740Li. Only a few items help distinguish it from the petrol 740Li from an exterior viewpoint. Aside from the obvious model badging on the rear trunk lid, the … [Read more...] about G12 BMW 7 Series plug-in hybrid officially introduced in Malaysia
