If you've been in the market for an electric car, though, and the battery range of some long-standing models is enough for you, these deals could prove compelling. As usual, our list of monthly deals comes from our partners at CarsDirect. They include a variety of discounts, including low financing rates, cheap leases, and cash discounts. 2015 Kia Soul EV First Drive - Portland - November 2014Enlarge Photo Electric car The best deal on an electric car, at least for California buyers, is on a Kia Soul EV. Best cheap fuel efficient cars
While petrol cars are increasingly getting more frugal, diesel ones still rule the roost in terms of fuel efficiency. Almost all the mainstream diesel cars on sale in the country offer a higher mileage than their petrol-powered counterparts. Here is a list of the best mileage diesel cars in India- #1 Maruti Swift – 28.4 kmpl With an ARAI-certified mileage of 28.4 kmpl, the new-gen Swift is the most fuel-efficient diesel car in the entire country. The Swift’s diesel variant gets its juice from a Fiat-sourced 1.3-Liter turbo-diesel motor that outputs a maximum power of 75 PS along with a peak torque of 190 Nm. The Mahindra Bolero has made it into India’s top 10 selling cars yet again, with 9,104 copies sold. Over 15 years old, the Bolero continues to be a very strong seller. In fact, it’s India’s best selling multi utility vehicle (MUV), and has retained this status for many years. What makes the Bolero so popular in India? Well, the lack of a solid alternative. Major sales of the Bolero come from the rural and semi-urban markets of India, where the MUV has no match really. The Tata Sumo is the only direct competitor but sells less than 10 % of the Bolero. The Bolero is very highly regarded in rural and semi-urban markets for its low running costs, reliability and high fuel efficiency. The Bolero brand has become so strong that that most buyers don’t even consider competition, read the Sumo, while purchasing an MUV. This brand strength has also given the Bolero excellent resale value. Spare parts are cheap and easily available. The manufacturers love it when they win, and who can blame them? A blaze of publicity, and Recommended or Winner badges that can be used in sales and marketing material is just one of the benefits. This year already we’ve had the What Car? Awards, one of the UK’s longest-running ceremonies. So what are the key sectors, who won and why, and what was the nearest competition? All awards are subjective, of course, and there will be different winners and losers when the next set of awards is … [Read more...] about 10 award-winning cars in 2018 – why they won, and the runners-up
It’s the last day of the year, and so we come to the signature final post to sign off 2017. The sixth edition of the paultan.org Top Five list continues on that seen in the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 editions, and as usual, we have the members of the editorial team each picking five cars that impressed them the most out of that sampled throughout the year.
