There's a 2.0 Mazda-sourced engine under the hood. Hurtan is a Granada-based small-scale automaker, focused on building retro-looking vehicles with modern technologies. About two months ago, the Spanish company unveiled its Grand Albaycin roadster based on the Mazda MX-5 , and now there’s a new version of that car. Just like Mazda has a hardtop version of the two-seater, Hurtan is launching the Grand Albaycin Bespoke based on the MX-5 Miata RF. Logically, this means the soft-top mechanism is replaced by an automatic hardtop roof, which can be finished in a different color compared to the rest of the body for a two-tone paint scheme. Gallery: Hurtan Grand Albaycín Bespoke 5 Photos Other than the hardtop, the sports car looks identical to the model introduced in January. One major difference though is the lack of the entry-level 1.5-liter engine. The Miata RF-based roadster will be … [Read more...] about Hurtan Grand Albaycín Bespoke Is A Miata RF With Euro Influences

Acropolis Rally returns to WRC for first time since 2013
Taking the place of Rally Chile – which has been cancelled due to COVID-related restrictions in the country – the classic gravel event will host round 10 of the WRC from September 9-12. Famed for its unforgiving rocks and high temperatures, the Acropolis was one of the first events to sign up to the WRC for its inaugural season in 1973, and has been staged as part of the world championship counter no fewer than 38 times. Some aspects of the rally have still to be finalised, including the host city and itinerary. These are expected to be issued following the regular route inspections by the FIA and WRC Promoter. WRC Promoter managing director Jona Siebel said: “The Acropolis holds an illustrious chapter in WRC history and we appreciate the Greek government’s huge commitment in restoring it to world rallying’s top table. “Its heritage will be recalled by all, but at the same time this is a modern-era Acropolis that sits comfortably alongside our other eleven rounds. … [Read more...] about Acropolis Rally returns to WRC for first time since 2013
Extreme sports legend Pastrana joins ROC 2022 line-up
Pastrana, whose list of achievements includes 11 X Games gold medals and four Rally America titles, is also the co-creator of the Nitro Circus action sports franchise, Nitro World Games and the upcoming Nitro Rallycross Series. Pastrana will return for his ninth ROC appearance at the event's first-ever edition on snow and ice, which is set to take place in early 2022 in Pite Havsbad, Sweden on the frozen Baltic Sea. “Race of Champions is such a prestigious and unique event,” said Pastrana. "It’s an honour to be able to compete against so many icons and legends from all disciplines of racing. "I don’t know who my teammate on Team USA will be yet. It would be nice to team up for example with NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson again and try to do even better than we did at Wembley Stadium in England. "But whoever my teammate is, we will aim to win it all." The 37-year-old's previous ROC appearances include reaching the individual semi-finals in Paris 2005 despite … [Read more...] about Extreme sports legend Pastrana joins ROC 2022 line-up
Cadillac Lyriq Pre-Production Prototype Shown Testing For First Time
It looks a whole lot like the example in previous photos. Cadillac Vice President of North America Sales, Service, and Marketing Mahmoud Samara celebrated on LinkedIn about the milestone of pre-production testing of the Cadillac Lyriq now being underway at General Motors' test center in Michigan. The brand's premium, electric crossover goes into production in roughly a year during the first quarter of 2022. The comparison below shows the pre-production model on the left and the photo on the right is the previously revealed version of the Lyriq. They are very similar. The pillars look a bit thicker. The rear wheel well doesn't appear to cut into the back door as much on the camouflaged car as on the other one. When Cadillac released the uncovered images of the Lyriq, it said the pictured vehicle was 85 percent finished. So the small tweaks visible on this pre-production model make sense. Volkswagen Takes Jab At Subaru Outback Owners In New ID.4 Ad
Apparently, Outback owners with "I love nature" stickers are bad for the environment. If any publicity is good publicity, then Volkswagen of America's whole "Voltswagen" debacle did manage to make people talk about the company. However, at the same time, it cast a shadow over a couple of new ads for the ID.4. One of them came out around the same time when that incomplete press release about the name change "leaked" onto the Internet, diverting attention from VoA's new electric SUV. The 30-second clip is about how the ID.4 is "better for your family" and how the SUV's electric powertrain remains silent, thus allowing people "to take in the sweet sounds of nature." That's all fine and dandy until a Subaru Outback makes a brief appearance with its internal combustion engine disrupting Mother Nature's music.
