Advert | Become a Supporter & go ad-free Yesterday Alonso missed out on a place in the 33-car field for Sunday’s race by less than 0.02mph over a four-lap run . Alonso, who has already won the Monaco Grand Prix and the Le Mans 24 Hours, would become the second driver after Graham Hill to sweep all three races if he takes a victory at Indianapolis. Following yesterday’s setback, the earliest that could now happen is next year. Alonso says he won’t begin considering his options until after his return to Le Mans next month. “Right now I think it’s difficult to make any promise,” said Alonso on Sunday evening at Indianapolis. “It’s just too soon to make decisions. “I don’t know even what I will do after next month’s Le Mans 24 hours, [finishing] my program in the world endurance championship. Lowndes expecting Sandown 500 wildcard effort
Listen to this article The Supercars legend will return to the Supercheap Auto-backed Triple Eight wildcard entry this season, paired with Zane Goddard . This will be the third year of T8's wildcard programme which in 2021 and 2022 was limited to the only long-distance race on the schedule, the Bathurst 1000. While the 2023 programme has been confirmed, as it stands none of the details, including which races it will cover, have been unveiled. That's thought to be because the Supercars Commission is yet to finalise the wildcard rules for the coming season, and therefore no wildcards have been formally approved. The Bathurst 1000 is a lock while there has also been speculation that Goddard could take the wheel of the Supercheap Camaro for a solo round at some point during the season. One event Lowndes is expecting to be part of the programme is the revived Sandown 500 which will return to the schedule as a two-driver race for the first time since 2019. “I think the … [Read more...] about Lowndes expecting Sandown 500 wildcard effort

Ford Will Pay You $2,500 To Cancel Or Change Your Bronco Order
I suppose this is a good problem to have if you are an automaker, too much demand for a vehicle. Of course, a lack of parts is contributing to this also. In a first for me, Ford is offering $2,500 to customers willing to change their Bronco orders that can be built, or to those willing to buy or order a different Ford product. Ford Memo To Dealers In a memo to dealers last week, Ford, in part, said: Due to unprecedented circumstances, we will not have enough allocation/commodities to build all of the 2023 model unscheduled verified retail orders that are currently in the order bank. Any unscheduled 2023 Bronco with certain constrained commodities may run the risk of not scheduling in the 23 model year. We recognize the importance of taking care of these customers and to increase the likelihood of scheduling during the 2023 model year, Ford is offering an additional incentive to eligible customers who choose to take one of the following actions. Remove all … [Read more...] about Ford Will Pay You $2,500 To Cancel Or Change Your Bronco Order
Colombia president asks to stop arrest of narco sought by US
BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombia's president is seeking to suspend arrest orders against some of the country's biggest criminal suspects, including at least one individual wanted in the U.S. on narcotics charges, as part of an ambitious plan to dismantle armed groups that have long dominated the countryside. The request to suspend the arrest orders against eight members of the so-called Gulf Clan was made by President Gustavo Petro's peace commissioner in a letter dated Jan. 11 to Colombia's chief prosecutor. Among those on the list are Jobanis Villadiego, also known by his alias “Bad Boy,” who was indicted in Brooklyn federal court in 2015 alongside Dairo Antonio Úsuga, then leader of the Gulf Clan and at the time Colombia's most wanted fugitive. A copy of the letter was provided to The Associated Press by someone close to U.S. law enforcement on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters at the heart of more than two decades of U.S.-Colombia anti-narcotics … [Read more...] about Colombia president asks to stop arrest of narco sought by US
Mustang Fights AWD Onslaught In Drag Race Against RS3, M240i, Golf R
The Ford Mustang has the power to dominate at the drag strip. However, effectively using all those ponies can be challenging for the car. A new video from the CAR YouTube channel reveals that the right competitors – the BMW M240i, Volkswagen Golf R, and Audi RS3 – can capitalize on the Mustang's struggles and ride them to victory. The Golf R packs the smallest engine and the smallest punch of the bunch. Its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 315 horsepower (235 kW) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque, but this race isn't about power. The BMW's turbo 3.0-liter inline-six produces 382 hp (285 kW) and 368 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. The Audi has a turbo 2.5-liter fiver-cylinder making 394 hp (294 kW) and 368 lb-ft. The trio all sport all-wheel drive, which gives them a considerable advantage in this race.
