Soon after the 2018 Maruti Ciaz (facelift)’s exterior, images showing its interior have surfaced online, courtesy GaadiWaadi. As expected, the mid-cycle refresh has brought only minor changes to the car’s interior.Like the old Maruti Ciaz, the new Maruti Ciaz has a dual-tone interior in a combination of beige and black. The latter features new faux wood trim that is in a lighter shade. Maruti Suzuki has added cruise control feature with the mid-cycle refresh, and its controls are on the right spoke of the steering wheel, like the S-Cross.The 2018 Maruti Ciaz features a revised instrument panel. The speedometer and tachometer have blue needles, similar in colour to the diesel Smart Hybrid variant. This is an indicator of the addition of mild hybrid tech to the petrol variant. The MID between them is also new, positioned lower now for better visibility. Another improvement is the availability of headrests for the rear seat occupants. The non-touch double-DIN audio system in … [Read more...] about 2018 Maruti Ciaz (facelift)’s interior leaked
Steve Cibor loaded his Ford Explorer with a few samples of Tibetan rugs and drove for days along the East Coast in 1994, trying to persuade retailers to sell the expensive hand-woven pieces."Nobody bought it — but they gave me ideas," Cibor said. "In the rug industry, people know what will sell."Tamarian Carpets, the Baltimore-based rug importer and design company Cibor founded, has come a long way in the 20 years since then. The company is now a top rug exporter from Nepal, where the ancient craft of rug making is one of the country's biggest industries. The company's wool rugs, hand-knotted in Nepal, retail for thousands of dollars at a network of 200 carpet retailers, including Alex Cooper Gallery of Rugs in Towson. Abstract/Summary Many of you are writing to me asking for info on master Programs in Transportation Design. Many of you come from car design schools and engineering universities, many asking about their age to make sure it (the age) does not become the negative element to stop them from finding a job in car design (risk to be too old). read the article … [Read more...] about Car Design Jobs are difficult to find. Nissan hasn’t committed to a particular electric car exterior design strategy, but one hallmark of the Japanese brand’s future EVs will be spacious interiors. The brand’s executive design director, Satoru Tai, told Automotive News in a Saturday report that a “spaciousness” will be present thanks to electric cars’ layouts. He followed up his comments by saying, “It’s not about exterior styling.” Tai believes exterior design won’t be the major challenge for electric cars since the style can adapt to different segments. But the interior will be a real place for designers to shine. Without an engine at the front, engineers and designers can spread out the cockpit, and without a transmission tunnel, the floor can lay totally flat. ALSO SEE: Nissan is Investing Heavily into Electrified Vehicles As for instrumentation, less is more, said Tai. “We want to create an EV-unique expression,” he said. Tweet TweetThe 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has set the high-standards when it comes to interior design. Thus, the car reinvents itself and successfully keep-up with its direct rivals from Cadillac, Lexus, or BMW. How is exactly the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class setting the paces for the interior design in its class? Well, the high-class materials and their pleasant touch and feel, make its passengers enjoy a lot of luxury and space due to its high quality leather, along with a discreet feeling of being on a business class airplane. The interior of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a mixture of fine-art, featuring a new center console with elegant air vents to the armrests. The main attraction is the front-positioned central display of 7 inches with a selection of controllers that really set the paces in the technology the Merc is using. Twenty-three local interior designers were given six months to transform one Tulsa house into the 45th annual Designer Showcase. What made this year’s project, which benefits the Foundation for Tulsa Schools, a bit more of a challenge is that the house selected, at 2703 S. Yorktown Ave., was already occupied.“Usually the home we choose is one that has just been completed or is up for sale,” said Michael Beard, who served as the designer liaison for this year’s project. “That way, we’re able to give our designers free rein with their designs.“But when you have a homeowner involved, the process is a little more complicated,” he said. “We get information from the homeowners about things they like, things they don’t like, and then the designers make their presentations. It’s not dissimilar from what a designer does when working with a client.”About 80 local designers were approached to participate in this year’s … [Read more...] about Tulsa’s Designer Showcase home opens April 27 and benefits Tulsa schools
Abstract/Summary It is true! It is not an easy task to choose a Design School. We have so many around the world. Back at my time (30 years ago) it was a lot easier. We had probably five schools, Art Center College of Design ( Pasadena USA) and Royal College (London UK) were the best ones. Today the scenario has changed a lot because we face at least twenty Design Schools offering similar programs. read the article … [Read more...] about How to Select a Car Design School?
Unless you’re designing a house around a classic car, don’t downplay the importance of a car’s interior design. You’ll spend far more time engaging with a car’s cabin than you will admiring a car’s curves as you approach it. Luckily for me, Audi has developed a reputation for crafting rich interiors, and the A4 doesn’t disappoint. In fact, in an eight-car comparison in which a 2017 A4 placed second, we admired the virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster and noted the car’s “impeccable build quality and excellent materials.” I agree, but after months behind the wheel of our $52,325 A4 long-termer, I have more thoughts on the Google Earth subscription and have found a few rough edges inside the car. Should You Subscribe to Audi Connect PRIME?Overall, the interior still impresses, and I would still recommend the A4 despite the minor issues I’ve uncovered. As for the virtual cockpit display that’s standard on the … [Read more...] about 2017 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Long-Term Update 8: How the Interior Could Be Improved
