In the lead-up to the 20th season of Real Time With Bill Maher , Maher spoke with Deadline about what this season had in store — and shared his frustrations about pandemic life. “I’m over Covid,” he said in the interview. “I was never scared of it. I was always scared of the reaction to it, and as this has played out that only proved to be more true for me.” It was a sentiment he echoed in the opening monologue, which found him pondering the things that had changed since he was last on the air. This included his birthday, which had been the day before. “I don’t see myself becoming older,” Maher said. “I see myself becoming a milder variant.” Maher went on to note that the episode was taping on the two-year anniversary of the first COVID-19 case documented in the United States — an unsettling milestone. “Hopefully we’re getting out of this sh*t soon,” Maher said. “I can’t take it much more.” And then he shifted gears, pointing out that 2022 was also the year in which the film … [Read more...] about Season 20 of “Real Time With Bill Maher” Begins With Talk of Coups and COVID

Oliver Belleza was recently at a friend's apartment talking about relationships when he noticed a new feature on one of his dating apps: His Hinge profile now included an option to record a voice response to some of its quirky introductory questions. He hit record. "My most irrational fear are frogs," he said to potential matches (and a bemused friend in the room). Yes, frogs, Belleza said. When he was 4, he was walking home and got "jumped by a bunch of frogs" in the Philippines. He remembers seeing the frogs crawl out of the ground and surrounding him, "just like that one meme of Chris Pratt in 'Jurassic Park.' " A screaming and crying Belleza was guided back home by his aunt while the frogs followed, and the trauma lingers. Belleza kept the recording up on his Hinge profile and then posted it on TikTok, where it quickly racked up more than 28,000 likes. The 24-year-old mechanical engineer was flooded with responses from people who shared his aversion to frogs or wanted to … [Read more...] about Hinge added a new voice recording function. A van has utility in mind, but the space it offers inside makes it ripe for sprucing up. Case in point, take a look at the conversion vans and, more recently, overlanders built around vans. If you prefer the VIP look, the van can handle that too. Klassen's Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is a solid example of the VIP theme. From the outside, it just looks like a Sprinter with a different grille, a sportier bumper, and fancier wheels. That said, Klassen's front kit will give you an idea of what an AMG version of this van might look like should Mercedes-Benz build one. While the exterior upgrades are relatively mild, it's the opposite for the interior. At the front area, the dash design is still the same as the standard Sprinter. However, nearly every surface gets brown leather trim, from the steering wheel to the door panels. There is also a refrigerator and a sizable wireless charging pad that doubles as the front armrest. It also gets deep pile carpets for good measure. Other Ways … [Read more...] about Luxurious Mercedes Sprinter Has Big Screen And PlayStation 5

The M-Sport Ford driver misjudged a left hander resulting in his Puma ploughing into a rock face, triggering a series of rolls over the Armco barriers, with the car coming to rest 30 metres into a ravine. Luckily, Fourmaux and co-driver Alexandre Coria emerged unscathed from the crash but the Puma suffered significant damage. Fourmaux had been sitting fourth in the overall standings, 17.9s adrift of rally leader Toyota's Sebastien Ogier after an impressive start to the rally last night. M-Sport team principal Richard Millener said the car is heavily damaged, before admitting Fourmaux's rally is most likely over, with a repair unlikely. "He has had a very heavy accident by the looks of things," said Millener. "From what I can see it looks like quite a dirty corner he has gone to cut the line and I guess the cars in front have pulled a bit of mud out, and he just went head on into a mountain, and it has just flipped him over the barrier and 20 to 30 meters down the … [Read more...] about Fourmaux’s Monte Carlo hopes dashed after frightening roll

P9 in last year’s championship, Fred Vasseur admits he “underestimated” the challenges of not updating the Alfa Romeo during the season. Alfa Romeo made the call early in 2021 not to upgrade their car, instead focusing on 2022 and using all their resources to ensure they could make the best possible start with the new regulations. That resulted in a lacklustre 2021 campaign for the Hinwil team, Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi struggling to make it out of Q1 which put them on the back foot in the grands prix. The team-mates bagged just 13 points, Alfa Romeo P9 in the standings . Vasseur admits in hindsight the team’s call not to develop the 2021 car had a knock-on effect on the motivation of everyone present. “We took very early the direction for 2022, at the end of ’20,” he told Motorsport.com . “And perhaps I underestimated the fact that we had 22 races to do with the same car. “On the psychological side, it’s not an easy one. “When you have updates coming … [Read more...] about Alfa Romeo misjudged effect of no 2021 upgrades
