2018 Aston Martin V8 Vantage officially launched in Malaysia
Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur has officially introduced the new Aston Martin Vantage in the country, the second-generation two-door coupe arriving here nine months after its global reveal. It’s priced from RM1.6 million, inclusive of duties. Measuring in at 4,465 mm long, 1,942 mm wide and 1,273 mm tall, with a 2,704 mm long-wheelbase, the Vantage sits on the same bonded aluminium structure as the DB11, but 70% of its components are unique. It also takes a different approach in styling to its larger sibling. Design-wise, the new Vantage has a sculptured, athletic shape, clearly displaying many design details from the bespoke DB10 specifically created for the James Bond film, Spectre. Setelah versi yang dijana enjin V12 diperkenalkan pada pasaran tempatan hampir dua tahun lalu, kini Aston Martin membawa pula model DB11 yang dijana enjin V8 ke Malaysia secara rasmi. Untuk versi enjin lapan-silinder ini, DB11 dijana enjin yang dibekalkan oleh rakan teknikal Aston Martin iaitu Mercedes-AMG, dengan unit V8 turbo berkembar dari siri ’63’. Enjin M177 yang turut boleh ditemui pada model Mercedes-AMG C63 S tersebut menggunakan sistem pelinciran jenis takungan basah, berbanding enjin M178 pada AMG GT S yang menggunakan sistem takungan minyak pelincir jenis kering. Aston Martin DB11 V8 officially launched in Malaysia
The Aston Martin DB11 makes its second debut in Malaysia today, this time with an eight-cylinder engine as opposed to the V12-powered version introduced by Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur back in September 2016. The engine itself is sourced from Mercedes-AMG, which is Aston Martin’s technical partner for a good number of years now. It is a M177 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 that is also used in Mercedes-AMG’s ‘63’ models, but differs from the one used in the AMG GT S. Where the M177 (found in the C 63 S) uses a wet sump oil system, the M178 in the GT S has a dry sump instead. In the DB11, the V8 serves up 510 PS and 675 Nm of torque, which is 98 PS and 25 Nm less than what you’ll get with Aston’s AE31 5.2 litre twin-turbo V12 (608 PS and 700 Nm). Aston Martin also retained the ZF eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission instead of adopting a seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission (DCT), with drive going to the rear wheels.
