2018 honda accord reveal
Launched in mid-June 2017, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R is the first Honda-brand Type R product ever sold in the United States. And after generations of Honda enthusiasts tolerated relatively unimpressive horsepower totals from high-revving four-cylinder engines, Honda didn’t mess around with the latest, turbocharged Civic Type R. 306 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. 295 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpm. Yet before the Civic Type R was even on sale in the United States, we learned that the 10th-generation 2018 Honda Accord would kill the V6 and replace it with, you guessed it, the Civic Type R’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Incidentally, only a few days after that, we learned that the optional V6 in the Accord’s long-time rival, the new-for-2018 Toyota Camry, would generate 301 horsepower. Win for Honda? Not so much, as Honda last week revealed a 2018 Accord 2.0T with 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Huh? What? Why? Granted, Honda doesn’t … [Read more...] about Honda’s 2018 Accord Uses the Civic Type R’s 2.0T, but Why Did It Lose so Many of the Type R’s Ponies?
HCIL is gearing up for the launch of the 2018 Honda Amaze. A spy photo posted by Overdrive reveals that Honda has concluded the TVC filming. Developed at Honda’s R&D centre in Bangkok, Thailand, the second generation Honda Amaze is based on an all-new platform. Honda will offer it with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. For the first time in our market, buyers will have a CVT option in the diesel engine model. Upright chrome grille, headlamps with LED DRL, 15-inch double-spoke alloy wheels, power folding mirrors with integrated turn signals, C-shaped tail lamps, sporty rear spoiler and a Shark fin antenna are the exterior highlights of the 2018 Honda Amaze. Inside, the sub-4 metre sedan has a two-tone beige-black colour scheme. Push start/stop, cruise control, Digipad 2.0 touchscreen … [Read more...] about 2018 Honda Amaze snapped at its TVC filming ahead of May launch

Honda will halt production of the 2018 Accord at its Ohio plant for 11 days over the coming four months. A Honda spokesman revealed to Automotive News that the production freeze will take place due to slow U.S. sales and burgeoning inventories. Those working at the Marysville plant will work non-production jobs or take the 11 days off. Production will be paused for two days each month from April through June and during a five-day extension of the annual summer shutdown at the plant in July. “We’re adjusting production at our automotive facilities regularly, up and down. “This is just really business as usual and we’re adjusting production down to match the market condition at this moment,” the spokesman said. On March 1, Honda Accord inventory levels stood at 104 days. Honda dealers assert that one of the reasons for the slow sales is a lack of attractive lease offers. It’s just a sign of the times When we drove the 2018 Honda Accord last year in … [Read more...] about Honda To Pause Accord Production For 11 Days
